What are the benefits of moxibustion?
Chinese medicine cupping, scraping and moxibustion are traditional cultures in China. I believe everyone is familiar with scraping and cupping, but many friends around me don't know what moxibustion is. Moxibustion is one of the oldest therapies in Chinese medicine, which not only has a good health care effect on the body, but also has a good beauty and weight loss effect. The earliest existing written records are contained in Zuo Zhuan. As early as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, moxibustion was already popular. Moxibustion is recorded in detail in Huangdi Neijing, Treatise on Febrile Diseases, Bian Que Heart Classic and other medical works. Moxibustion is widely spread among the people because it is economical, effective and easy to master. Western moxibustion was introduced from China, and French doctor Lalan used moxibustion to treat tetanus, paralysis and bone marrow diseases. In Asia, China's traditional moxibustion first spread to North Korea and Japan. Moxibustion originated in ancient China, because its mechanism of action is similar to acupuncture therapy, and it has a complementary therapeutic effect with acupuncture therapy. Usually, acupuncture and moxibustion are used together, so it is called acupuncture. Acupuncture has a far-reaching influence at home and abroad, but modern people say acupuncture only refers to acupuncture, and rarely includes moxibustion. We usually think that acupuncture and moxibustion are the same therapy, but they are not. Although they are all based on the understanding of human meridians and acupoints, acupuncture only produces physical effects, while moxibustion is a compound effect of medicine and physics. Moreover, the treatment scope of the two is different. The so-called "acupuncture does not do what it does, moxibustion is appropriate" refers to the difference. Moxibustion is a magical therapy because it really has many advantages. First of all, the curative effect of moxibustion is amazing. Moxibustion therapy is widely used, and it is the main method to treat diseases in ancient China. In the words of traditional Chinese medicine, it has the functions of warming yang and benefiting qi, warming meridians and dredging collaterals, removing blood stasis and resolving hard mass, and tonifying middle energizer and benefiting qi. It can be widely used in internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics and facial diseases, and has special effects on mastitis, prostatitis, scapulohumeral periarthritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, cervical spondylosis and diabetes. Secondly, moxibustion has a peculiar health care function. For thousands of years, moxibustion has been used to prevent diseases and prolong life in China. Huangdi Neijing "Sweating in strong wind, moxibustion means loving points", which is a kind of health moxibustion. According to Zhuangzi, the sage Confucius "moxibustion is not a disease", which also refers to the use of moxibustion for health care. The anti-cancer research of moxibustion made by Japanese people such as Suto Zuo also shows that moxibustion can activate the potential anti-cancer effect in skin tissue and play a role in treating cancer. And the origin of moxibustion is even more magical. According to textual research, the invention of moxibustion should be that when primitive people used fire, a certain part of the pain was roasted comfortably by fire, and they took the initiative to burn it with fire to treat more pain. In ancient times, wormwood was also called an ice platform. Before divination, ancient artificial ice made fire, guided by wormwood. In this ritual atmosphere of attracting skyfire, witches simulate tortoise shell omen and human blood vessels, and think about the fire theory and qi theory of traditional Chinese medicine, thus producing moxibustion, a magical therapy. (Wanniankang Medical Counterfeiting/) The pre-Qin and Han dynasties were an important period for the formation of traditional acupuncture medicine in China. Huangdi Neijing, a medical masterpiece produced in the Qin and Han Dynasties, systematically introduced moxibustion as an important content, emphasizing that "acupuncture is not what it does, but moxibustion is appropriate". It first pointed out that "moxibustion and fire are also northern". Because "northerners, ... whose land is high, whose mausoleum lives, whose wind is cold and cold, whose foraging in the wild, whose hiding (pollution) is cold, and who is sick, all need moxibustion treatment. It shows that the emergence of moxibustion therapy is related to the living conditions, customs and diseases in northern China. The indications of moxibustion include exogenous diseases, internal injuries, viscera diseases, cold and heat diseases, carbuncle, mania and so on. Moxibustion has many functions, such as ascending and descending, nourishing yin and yang, expelling cold and evil spirits, dredging meridians and qi and blood. Huangdi Neijing also mentioned the method of tonifying deficiency and reducing moxibustion: "Those who make up the fire will extinguish themselves if they don't blow it;" "He who purges it with fire, blows its fire and spreads his love will be extinguished with fire." Finally, it is pointed out that the contraindications of moxibustion are: deficiency of both yin and yang or deficiency of both yin and yang, excess of yang with heat and stagnation. Huangdi Neijing laid the foundation of moxibustion therapy to some extent. Zhang Zhongjing's book "Treatise on Exogenous Fever and Miscellaneous Diseases" in the Eastern Han Dynasty focuses on the treatment of exogenous febrile diseases and internal injuries and miscellaneous diseases. Although there are not many articles on acupuncture, Treatise on Febrile Diseases contains seven moxibustion methods, two synopses of the golden chamber and two regression methods, which are actually seven. However, the application and contraindications of moxibustion have played a role. In application, Zhongjing pointed out that moxibustion is suitable for the diseases of three yin meridians, or moxibustion can help yang to suppress yin at the beginning of shaoyin disease and when yang deficiency and yin are abundant; Yin deficiency is conducive to vomiting, and when the pulse is fine and astringent, it will raise yang and replenish yin. Or Jue yin disease with cold hands and feet and rapid pulse, moxibustion can promote yang to reach the outside; If the pulse is slightly heartbroken, return to yang to save the inverse. The contraindications of moxibustion treatment include the symptoms of sun, yang exuberance and fever due to yin deficiency. All these have had an important impact on the medical family of later generations.
