Janet Lau, a mindfulness yoga instructor: Life is black and white. Only by accepting yourself can you learn to love.
Where there is love, there is light. Because of true love, we can be cured. Learning to listen to yourself means learning to tolerate and accept yourself unconditionally, including your own "black" and "white". ── Liu Jia

On the afternoon when I met Teacher Ja, there was just an afternoon shower in Taipei, and the weather affected by typhoon circulation was always uncertain. Walking into Easyoga's shop next to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall with an umbrella. We met this famous mindfulness yoga teacher from Hong Kong. She is slender, well-proportioned and has a good face. Surprisingly, she is younger than expected. She seems to be in her prime. In fact, she is already a senior yoga teacher. Since 2006, she has been engaged in the practice and promotion of the integration of yoga, life wisdom and mindfulness, and has also compiled her own experiences and observations into a book for publication. Recently, she published her second book, Life in Black and White, to further explore the philosophy of life and how to integrate it into the practice of yoga and meditation.

Jaliu, mindfulness yoga instructor, 19 Get along with depression and learn to accept yourself. Teacher Ja's expression is firm and gentle, her eyes are clear and clear, but she shows understanding and goodwill. She said that after practicing mindfulness yoga and life wisdom, she can not only become sensitive to her own physical feelings, but also slowly perceive other people's emotions. Now this teacher, who exudes harmony and wisdom, has been hindered in her early years, leaving her in extreme anxiety and even living with depression 19 years. Because of her competitive spirit and perfectionism, her life is full of setbacks: she hoped to marry her ex-boyfriend before the age of 28, but failed to handle the relationship with the other family, leading to the end of her relationship; After starting to be a yoga teacher, because of the extremely high standards, it caused great pressure on myself and students, which led to the gradual loss of students. Even she began to compare the number of students with other teachers. Because she is self-centered, her relationship with her father is always full of opposites. From career planning to eating, she often ends up quarreling. At the beginning of marriage, because of the different outlook on life and strong self-awareness, "I was so angry when I got home." Without good cooperation from all sides, she "wanted a divorce in the first year of marriage", but fortunately she didn't take action because of face problems.

The most difficult thing to practice yoga is to get into life. At the bottom of her life, she overheard a teacher say, "The hardest thing to practice yoga is to put yourself into life. It was like a slap in the face, making her turn around and start to reflect on herself. After focusing on the present, she found that all her setbacks came from "self-persistence", that is, everything was self-centered. In a fierce conflict, she found that she "never really accepted her father". It turned out that she was the critic, because she always compared the reality with her imaginary perfect father image, and of course she would never be satisfied. She said it was the first time that she realized that "experience is a reflection from the heart." "The original intention of yoga is" connection and unity ",but the truth is often blinded by our preconceived ideas. Only by letting go of that "self" and observing what happens in reality first can we find our connection with everything, find the harmony and joy of life and achieve the unity of body and mind. The first thing she did when she integrated yoga into her life was to observe breathing at any time. Among them, she said, "I saw many of my habits. Especially for my father's feelings, I saw many projections that I couldn't see before. She said yoga is an attitude towards life. What she does every day is to observe her feelings about everything first, and then try to accept it. She found that some friction with her father came from her own efforts to get his approval, so she tried not to confirm herself from others. Over the years, she feels (psychologically) stronger than before, and it is easier to face things when they go wrong. My father is still the nagging father. He will still read why she is a yoga teacher, why teaching for 8 hours a day makes him so tired, and why he argues with him about who will treat her. Now she can better understand the true meaning of her parents' words and get along with her father in a more inclusive manner.

Mindfulness meditation life has changed. Another turning point in her life was meditation. Born in a Christian family, I also hope to relieve myself through the * * * method of yoga when I grow up, but I always feel that the * * * method can't help myself, and my physical pressure is relieved, but my inner confusion can't be solved. Because yoga came into contact with Buddhism, she began to seek a way of meditation, and later entered the door of thich nhat hanh. Thich nhat hanh was born in Viet Nam and lived in France for political reasons. He advocated mindfulness Zen and was an internationally renowned religious leader and pacifist. Thich nhat hanh traveled around the world to teach Buddhism and practice mindfulness, and also established the Meicun meditation center in the south of France. Teacher Ja converted to thich nhat hanh during her trip to Hong Kong, and went to Mei Village to receive his instruction, and also taught yoga locally. Ja said that thich nhat hanh had a great influence on her. After practicing Zen, her mentality changed greatly. When she came home, the contradiction between husband and wife decreased and the interaction increased. Her husband saw his change and began to practice a year later. She said that after she changed her mind, she no longer cared about practical issues, such as how many students there were in a class, nor did she force students. After she taught freely, there were more and more students. She laughed and said that she has been pursuing perfection and loves challenges. She must learn all kinds of knowledge and do all kinds of difficult movements, which often hurts herself. Now she's back to basics and doesn't do the difficult method. Instead, she often practices some basic movements that she thinks are most helpful to her.

Write out her negative experience and publish a book to help more people. As for why she wanted to publish a book, she said that she wanted to promote the concept of applying yoga to life, but most of the books on the market were written by herself. Because she wrote her own experience truthfully, the real case was recognized by many people, and Ja got the attention of Taiwan Province Province and other places, and began to teach in various countries, spreading her ideas to more places. The first book is mainly about her experience and how yoga is applied in life. The second book, Life in Black and White, has advanced to the level of life wisdom. She said that there are many negative and dark things in life, but most people don't understand and tolerate this "black" side, but there is nothing wrong with "black", just like night and day can be called a complete day; If you don't understand the "dark side", you won't understand and sympathize at school. Melancholy has taught Ja to regard emotion as a way to accept and love oneself, and to understand the operation mode of the universe and life. She also wanted to help others in this way, so the second book was born. In this book, Ja leads everyone to observe their emotions layer by layer and find out the crux of the problem. In addition to using mindfulness exercises to deal with these negative emotions, combined with some simple yoga and meditation exercises, you can help yourself get along with these emotions, let them calm down slowly, overcome emotional obstacles, and even find wisdom to solve things.

"In the future, I will teach you how to love." "Yoga is a life attitude, constantly reflecting on yourself, because the world is built by yourself. Ja reminds us once again that the appearance of the world we live in is influenced by our own thoughts. Only love and tolerance can cure us. " I want to teach you how to love in the future. Ja mentioned a dream she once had, in which she was in a big square, facing thousands of Middle Eastern people in white Islamic costumes, and she was telling them the truth about "love". Looking at this frank and energetic woman in front of her, turning over this simple and heavy "black and white life", I feel that the external and internal haze in the past few days has been swept away by the light emitted by Teacher Ja's firm eyes.
