Many people have asked this question. In this world, many people have this question whether they study Buddhism or not. Master Yin Guang's answers in his Paper Money are extracted and shared with you, hoping to dispel our doubts (see the book Lingyan Legacy edited by Master Zhi Sui).
Daoji Zen master (commonly known as Jigong) is a magical great saint. He wants all life to be positive, so he often doesn't think carefully. The man who drinks and eats meat hides his virtue as a saint, trying to show the fool that he is crazy and illegal, so he doesn't believe it. Otherwise he can't live in the world. Where buddhas and bodhisattvas appear, if they show the same common people, they will only educate people and never show their magical powers. If you show your magical powers, you can't live in the world. It's okay to be crazy now, and it's okay to show it. It is not for practitioners to drink and eat meat. Good people in the world don't drink or eat meat, but they are disciples of the Buddha. They want to educate all beings, but they don't follow the teachings themselves. It will not only make people lose confidence, but also make people lose confidence, so you can't learn by drinking and eating meat. There is another digression. Although Jigong is a saint, he wants to hide the virtue of a saint. Nowadays, many people talk big, saying that they have become "saints and buddhas" and have appeared everywhere. Compare the words and deeds of Jigong Living Buddha, you must think twice and don't believe it. A saint has no self-esteem and does not expose himself. Therefore, Jigong uses magical powers to measure people, but he wants to hide his true identity through madness.
If he eats the dead, he will spit out the living. After drinking wine, he can fill the Buddha with gold and transport countless trees from the well. When we drink and eat meat, it is the real wine and meat that makes it difficult for us to spit it out (drunken people can do it). But Jigong eats meat, but he surpasses the animals he eats. Therefore, we have created the killing industry and made great achievements in helping the public. Such a world far apart, does the world still want to learn? Dare to learn! You can still learn! If we still cling to the delusion that "wine and meat penetrate the intestines, and the Buddha pays attention", can we achieve "meeting each other late, just like cutting the spring breeze" when we think about the results of the three roads (hell, hungry ghost and beast)?
