However, all this started because of one person and one heart. He is Du, the inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of Dunhuang colored sculptures and the craftsman of Long Yuan.
People affectionately call him "the old village head". "Choose one thing for life" refers to people like him, I guess.
1October 1 1 Sunday afternoon, I went into the mysterious Mogaoli with many poetry friends from the poetry club.
Dunhuang is famous, but the city is small. Everyone knows the outstanding people in this city. Me too. I have known him for a long time. Before I moved, I passed the Dunhuang Hotel every day on my way from our home to work. At the gate of the hotel, there is a white marble sculpture of Du. But, for the first time, I really approached his life and story.
On the outside, he is a straightforward and approachable person. In fact, there is a kind of stubbornness in the bones that is not noticed by people. Otherwise, there would not be today's Mogoli, craftsman village.
The reason why he embarked on this road has a lot to do with his family. His parents are both cultural workers, and his father Lao Du even likes painting. Influenced by family culture, he has been in contact since childhood, and has planted a seed of art in the soil of his heart for a long time.
Later, by coincidence, he walked into the Mogao Grottoes, into the beautiful art palace, and embarked on a very challenging and innovative road.
Like a curious child, he discovered Alibaba with countless treasures. In the Mogao Grottoes, he was like a duck to water and fell in love with his job. The seeds of art planted in his heart in his early years germinate, blossom and bear fruit here. For decades, I have not been confused by the glitz of the outside world. I am "as sharp as a handful, as polished as a mill". I devoted myself to studying Dunhuang colored sculptures and Loyal Wife, and finally became a master.
Writing here, I thought of the "10,000-hour law" put forward by Gladwell in Alien. Isn't this a living embodiment of Du?
Jane avenue. It's easier said than done. Whoever does it will succeed.

Du's life can be basically divided into two parts. Twenty years ago, he worked tirelessly in the Mogao Grottoes Research Institute. In the past twenty years, he was lucky enough to start his own business. Whether we are familiar with Ma Yun, Ma, and Zhang Ruimin, all those who have made great achievements are tossed out in this way, including Du's craftsman village.
Growing up in this land, I am still familiar with the mountains and rivers of Dunhuang. Before Dunhuang, there was no such antique craftsman village. This was newly developed and built on 20 18. That is to say, such a learning, production and research and development base has been created out of thin air.
It is said that the former site of this craftsman village is an abandoned school, which has been processed and transformed. It covers a large area and is self-contained. There are non-legacy workshops, the editorial department of Contemporary Dunhuang, Du Art Museum, a century-old photo exhibition hall of Dunhuang, biography hall, chef's kitchen, brewery and so on. There are lush flowers and trees here, and the environment is quiet, and there are crisp birds singing from time to time. Looking up occasionally, the beacon tower not far away quietly tells the vicissitudes of life.
It can be said that every step, every corner, will encounter a sculpture, let you imagine, let you surprise, let your heart fly away from reality for a while.
What shocked me in particular was the visit to the non-legacy workshop.
I have seen many exquisite wood carvings, jade carvings and clay sculptures. I once stayed at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in Beijing, and briefly stopped at the Terracotta Warriors Museum in Xi 'an. I have also been to Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes many times. Even last year, I saw a world-class exquisite marble sculpture in the resplendent Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia.
However, in Du's workshop, he was still shocked. The reason for the shock is that I saw the truth of the sculpture.
The sculptures that most of us saw before, no matter what material, are all finished products, exquisite finished products, which are glamorous and of high value. Perhaps, no one will think about it, its original state, its original appearance.
A few red willows, a few hemp ropes and a few lumps of mud are all common things. However, in the hands of our master, in the story of time, under the infiltration of the brush, we were injected with imagination, but magically came to life, magically had life and magically had a soul.
An ordinary sculpture takes as long as three months, while others take even longer. It's really slow. Looking at the semi-finished sculpture, I feel that time seems to have slowed down. Pieces of soil, carved one by one, painted one by one. The image quality is plastic, and the smiling bodhisattva gradually appears in front of us. What is the ultimate? That's it.
At that moment, I suddenly thought of the Japanese movie "The God of Sushi", Japanese carpenter Li Hui Akiyama, Wang Jin who was repairing cultural relics in the Forbidden City, Zhangqiu Iron Pot who became popular with the program "China on the Tip of the Tongue", and kazuo inamori's works are the meaning of practice, ingenuity, craftsman spirit, piety and love, handed down from generation to generation, dedication and living? Life is only a hundred years, so we should leave something meaningful for the world. Like sculpture!
Suddenly, someone knocked on the sculpture in front of me and whispered, is it hollow or solid? I also knocked curiously and found that the sound was clear and naturally hollow.
Looking down a whole circle, I found that no matter animals or people, no matter white-haired old people or naughty children, no matter whether King Kong glowered or Bodhisattva lowered her eyebrows, they were all vividly portrayed.
I especially like the statues of two shepherds. One sits cross-legged and plays the flute, and the other looks up. Its conception is ingenious, its shape is beautiful and its lines are smooth. The expression on her face is lifelike, almost lifelike. There seems to be a faint flute in my ear. ...
However, this is only one of his most common sculptures. Wandering in his sculpture museum, wandering in different spaces, different stories and different times.
Accompanied by the voice of the old village chief's explanation, listening to the voice of the surrounding literati and poets, I seem to see the light flying smartly.

Ceng Zi said: "I save three times a day: are you unfaithful to others?" Don't believe in making friends? Can't you learn? "
I remembered Ceng Zi's words because I saw the workshops in the craftsman village.
Here is their lecture hall, unpretentious.
As the saying goes, only people with big patterns can do great things.
This place is also a display of the old village head's big heart. Fame and fortune are just clouds to him.
He devoted himself to Dunhuang colored sculptures for decades, not only taking apprentices, but also jointly running schools with many universities, making the craftsman village a base for students' study, internship and research and development. It has trained many latecomers who love sculpture.
If each of us comes to this world with a mission. So, have you found your mission? How do you want to spend the rest of your life?
Du said that his mission is to keep the ancient color plastic arts alive.
The way to keep the colorful plastic art alive is naturally to cultivate a steady stream of latecomers.
This may be the reason why the craftsman village exists!
As I said before, there are wineries here, and wine tasting is naturally a reserved program. The wine here is different from other places. This is a health wine. Other ingredients, such as coix seed and glutinous rice. , has been added to ordinary wine, so it looks cloudy, called turbid wine. When it comes to turbid wine, we all think of the words in the Ming Dynasty writer Yang Shen's "Linjiang Fairy Rolling East of the Yangtze River": "A pot of turbid wine is enjoyable. Many things in ancient and modern times are jokes. " I can't help reading it out. At that moment, everyone's face was filled with smiles. In laughter, drink it off. Some people even said loudly that a glass of turbid wine is not drunk!
As the sun sets, the golden light of dusk hangs over the quaint craftsman village. We bid farewell to the master and set foot on the return bus.
