Thousands of years before Sakyamuni was born,
Practitioners of various sects in India have been practicing hard with various methods of yoga.
Sakyamuni himself used this cultivation method, but it didn't achieve any effect.
Later, I changed to meditation to practice.
In fact, there is no so-called qigong in primitive Buddhism.
Think about it, qigong is mainly to strengthen the body and prolong life.
But Buddhists don't care about the ups and downs of this life.
What they expect is early enlightenment, great wisdom and six divisions in the wheel of getting rid of karma.
Why spend time learning qigong?
Therefore, only "meditation" in primitive Buddhism is something similar to Qigong.
However, after Buddhism was introduced into China, it was combined with the original religion and local forces, and many local Buddhists with characteristics appeared. Among them, Tibetan Buddhism introduced into Tibet, combined with the original religion in Tibet, not only added a lot of spells, spells and other contents, but also included martial arts, qigong and so on, such as big handprints, clumsy fires and so on.
Buddhism spread to the Central Plains blended with Taoism and Confucianism in China, and China's thoughts of Wushu and Qigong also penetrated into temples. Among them, Wushu and Qigong, which were developed by Shaolin Temple to enhance the physique of monks, later became a major school of martial arts in China, which was probably unexpected by Sakyamuni.
