Gastrodia elata is a traditional Chinese medicine for calming wind and relieving spasm. Can be used for treating common cold, headache, nasal congestion, carbuncle, swelling, sore, skin itching, and leucorrhea with red and white discharge. Guangdong folk so-called big fish head, that is, silver carp head. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that it is warm and sweet, and has the functions of warming stomach, nourishing blood and tonifying, and various materials are used together. This soup, combined with ginger to dispel wind and cold, has the functions of expelling cold, removing arthralgia and treating cold.

Ingredients: Gastrodia elata 12g, Ligusticum chuanxiong 3-9g, Radix Angelicae Dahuricae 6-9g, half or one big fish head, 50g lean pork and 4 slices of ginger.

The preparation method comprises cleaning the microbubbles of Rhizoma Gastrodiae, Rhizoma Chuanxiong and Radix Angelicae Dahuricae; Wash the big fish head, remove the gills, or cut it in half; Cut the lean pork into pieces, wash it, stew it with ginger, add 1000- 1250 ml (about 4-5 bowls) of hot water, cover it and stew it for about two hours.
