Acupuncture is an important technique for treating diseases and keeping in good health in TCM, but we should pay attention to seven aspects of acupuncture keeping in good health:

First of all, people who are too tired, nervous and hungry should not have acupuncture. The elderly and infirm should try to lie down, choose less suitable acupoints and use methods lightly.

Secondly, pregnant women should not acupuncture too hard, and acupuncture is prohibited in abdomen, lumbosacral region and acupoints that can cause uterine contraction, such as Hegu, Sanyinjiao, Kunlun and Yin Zhi.

Third, children generally do not leave needles because they do not cooperate. It is forbidden to stick needles at fontanel, Fengfu and Tumen points of infants.

Four, patients with hemorrhagic diseases, or often spontaneous bleeding, it is difficult to stop bleeding after injury, not acupuncture.

Fifth, skin infections, ulcers, scars and tumors are not suitable for acupuncture.

Sixth, the depth and angle of acupuncture should be mastered in the eye area, chest and back, kidney area, abdomen and pubic symphysis of patients with gastric ulcer, intestinal adhesion and intestinal obstruction, and direct acupuncture is prohibited to prevent accidental injury to important organs.

Seventh, acupuncture does have excellent curative effect on some diseases, but it is not omnipotent, especially for some acute and severe diseases. Comprehensive treatment should be taken in time according to the situation, which can be more beneficial to patients and give full play to the role of acupuncture.
