It turned out that Mr. Cui, accompanied by his wife, went to a health care shop for acupuncture and physiotherapy because of his physical discomfort. During the process, Mr. Cui had difficulty breathing, his face turned black and his condition became more and more serious. The owner saw it and sent it to the hospital. Mr. Cui died after being rescued.

In just one month, including this accident, there have been four tragedies of pneumothorax caused by careless acupuncture operation.

Why does acupuncture cure diseases and save lives lead to casualties? Can health institutions carry out acupuncture programs?

Careless acupuncture can lead to "air leakage" in the lungs.

Dong Feng introduced that the lung wall is very thin, about 1mm, just like an inflated balloon. If the acupuncture operator penetrates the needle too deeply, it will pierce the lung wall, resulting in "air leakage in the lung". The gas in the chest cavity increases, squeezing the lungs, causing the lungs to shrink urgently, which will lead to respiratory disorders and seriously endanger life.

Dong Feng said that there are three reasons for pneumothorax. First, many patients, like Mr. Cui, choose places like health stores without medical qualifications, and the medical qualifications of operators cannot be guaranteed, which is risky. Second, if pneumothorax occurs in a regular Chinese medicine clinic, doctors will also have the risk of pneumothorax if they perform irregular operations such as acupuncture through clothes. On the other hand, patients themselves may fall asleep or stand against the wall during acupuncture, resulting in pneumothorax.

"As long as the operation is proper, pneumothorax can be avoided." Dong Feng reminded that patients should go to regular hospitals to find regular doctors for acupuncture. When acupuncture, they should tell the doctor how they feel about needles. If you have chest tightness, chest pain, dyspnea and other symptoms, you should seek medical advice in time.

After investigation by the police, the owner of acupuncture for Mr. Cui has not systematically studied medical knowledge, and has repeatedly acupuncture for customers without a doctor's qualification certificate, a doctor's practice certificate and a medical institution's practice license.

However, in China, acupuncture and other traumatic physical therapy have long been banned in health care places such as health centers.

From June 2065438 to June 2008, state administration of traditional chinese medicine published the Reply of state administration of traditional chinese medicine Office on the Fire Therapy Project of Non-medical Institutions, which clearly stipulated that Chinese medical and health institutions were prohibited from using traumatic, invasive or dangerous technical methods, such as acupuncture, scar moxibustion, foaming moxibustion, traction, pulling, minimally invasive Chinese medicine technology and enema.

2065438+July 2008, state administration of traditional chinese medicine issued the "Standard of Chinese Medical and Health Care Service (Trial)" (draft for comments), clearly stating that "Chinese medical and health care institutions and their personnel shall not engage in medical activities, and shall not use acupuncture, scar moxibustion, foaming moxibustion, traction, pulling method and minimally invasive technology of Chinese medicine".

Experts suggest that when examining and approving the establishment of medical and health care institutions, it is necessary to strictly implement the provisions that "the personnel of TCM health care technical service posts should obtain qualification certificates issued by relevant competent departments, and the service scope should be consistent with the qualifications obtained, and at the same time they should hold post health certificates".
