Where can I find kapok in Guangzhou?
When it comes to flower viewing in March, we usually think of rape and cherry blossoms, as well as peach blossoms. In fact, there is another beautiful flower this season, that is kapok. There are many places where kapok blooms here in Guangzhou. Let's see where it is!

Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall When it comes to kapok appreciation, perhaps most people will recommend Lingyuan West Road and Martyrs Cemetery for the first time, but I will recommend Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall first.

Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall under Yuexiu Mountain is a memorial building designed by the famous architect Lv Yanzhi in China and funded by the people of Guangzhou and overseas Chinese. It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Guangzhou Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is an octagonal building, with a solemn and magnificent appearance and strong national characteristics. The designer skillfully applied the structural principle of architectural mechanics and adopted a mixed structure of steel frame and reinforced concrete. The building space is column-free, with a span of 7 1 m.

The roofs are all made of blue glazed tiles, and many trees and flowers are planted in the garden.

There are a large number of kapok trees, and an old tree is located in the northeast corner of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. It is about 23 meters high and the crown is 900 square meters high. Although it is very old, it is still spectacular. This is a 349-year-old kapok king.

Last year, the Guangdong Provincial Forestry Department announced that this kapok king was selected as the "most beautiful ancient tree in China" and became the most beautiful kapok. Every spring, the king of kapok blooms, a piece of purples, a piece of purples, and a single tree becomes a forest, which is in harmony with the blue glazed tiles of the memorial hall.

In the past 349 years, this kapok king has witnessed the vicissitudes of Guangzhou's mountains and rivers, and it is still a rare spectacle.

Yuexiu Mountain, behind the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Yuexiu Mountain, is also a good place to enjoy kapok. If you go out from the back door of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, you can go up the mountain along the 100-step staircase in Yuexiu Mountain. Along the way, in addition to the fiery red kapok, there are pink and pure white palace powder bauhinia intertwined, which made a brilliant spring.

There are also many kapok plants around Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Yuexiu Mountain. The monument was built in 1929 and designed by the famous architect Lv Yanzhi. The main body of the monument is all made of granite and is 37 meters high. The bottom of the monument is square and tapers upward. There are steps in the monument that can swing to the top, and the first and second floors can be overlooked from all sides.

Further up, there are windows on each floor to look out. There are 26 stone carvings of sheep's head on the upper floor of the monument, symbolizing Yangcheng.

The platform where the monument is located has iron railings and the surrounding trees are lush, especially red kapok. Sun Yat-sen Monument and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall are located on the central axis of the traditional city of Guangzhou, which are integrated and magnificent, and become the symbol of modern Guangzhou city.

Yuexiu Mountain's five sheep condolences can be said to be a symbol of Yangcheng, and in this important place, the position of the city flower kapok is indispensable.

Besides Wuyang sculpture, another symbol of Guangzhou is zhenhai tower. Zhenhai tower, located at the top of Yuexiu Mountain, is commonly known as five floors. Now it is the Guangzhou Museum, and there is also a kapok map here. When the flowers bloom, it's like putting blush on this old building, and it also makes the lush Yuexiu Mountain look a little shy and lovely.

When you board zhenhai tower, the blooming kapok is in front of you, and the bustling city is in the distance.

The kapok trees in Yuexiu Mountain are blooming and falling with zhenhai tower, witnessing the growth and development of this historic and cultural city with a thousand years.

Agricultural College (Gong Xue, Panyu) The former site of Guangzhou Peasant Movement College, located at No.42, Zhongshan 4th Road, was originally a Confucius Temple built in Ming Dynasty, and was renamed Panyu Gong Xue in Qing Dynasty. Many people always misunderstand its name when they first hear it. I didn't expect this red tourist attraction to be such an ancient building with cultural connotations.

The combination of red kapok and this old Gong Xue is so charming. Look at two flaming kapok trees outside Xingxingmen. The shape of the branches is really beautiful.

In addition to the fiery red kapok, this quaint and solemn ancient building itself is also worth visiting. This is a group of solemn buildings with red walls and yellow tiles. The building faces south. From south to north, it consists of Lingxingmen, Chi Pan Arch Bridge, Dachengmen, Dacheng Hall and Chongshen Temple, with magnificent buildings such as Nuo Gallery on both sides.

The gate is a star-shaped gate carved in granite. Entering the gate is the front yard of Chi Pan, and there is a stone arch bridge in the middle of Chi Pan. Crossing the bridge is a passage paved with nine rows of granite slabs side by side, which leads directly to the spacious Dacheng Gate.

Passing through the gate, it is a lush courtyard, where ancient trees such as kapok, bodhi, longan and murraya are tall and lush. The magnificent Dacheng Hall stands on a platform made of granite. Walk along the passages on both sides of Dacheng Hall, which is Dachong Hall and East-West Corridor.

Does the cotton wool inadvertently left on the ancient buildings make you feel a little Zen? The collocation of kapok and traditional architecture is so harmonious that it vaguely reveals a classical beauty.

There are also several tall kapok trees in the Guangzhou Children's Library, which is separated from the Agricultural College by a wall.

Approaching the tree, I feel that the whole world is shrouded in red cotton. It's like walking through a kapok forest

The red kapok in the municipal government office building plays a finishing touch next to the Republic of China building in the municipal government office building. Many people don't know where the city government office is. Located in the north of People's Park in the city center, above the traditional central axis of Guangzhou.

This yellow glazed tile building with green roof, red column, yellow wall and white granite base has a history of more than 80 years and is still the office building of Guangzhou Municipal Government. It is an excellent modern building "hidden in downtown", which is both magnificent and simple and harmonious, and it is a business card of Guangzhou urban architecture.

Many people like to recommend the cemetery west road and the martyrs cemetery to see kapok, but because there is no special building to cooperate, it is actually not a place where movies can be made.

If you want to see kapok once in March, come to these places in Guangzhou!
