Yunnan West Normal University of Science and Technology is located in Lincang, Yunnan, with pleasant climate, beautiful ecology and rich products. Lincang is the birthplace of the world tea culture, the hometown of "yunnan black tea", and the permanent venue of the Asian Microfilm Art Festival and the "Golden Sea Tang" Award. The average annual temperature in Lincang is 17.2℃, the forest coverage rate in the city is 70%, and the air quality is excellent all the year round. Lincang is known as "the world tea capital, the capital of all seasons in spring, the holy place of health" and is one of the top ten green cities in China.
The school has 14 secondary colleges, including Marxism College, College of Literature, Asian Microfilm College, Aviation and Rail Transit College, School of Management and Economics, School of Political Law and Public Administration, School of Foreign Languages, School of Teacher Education, School of Mathematics and Science, School of Biotechnology and Engineering, School of Intelligence and Information Engineering, School of Art, School of Physical Education and School of Continuing Education. There are 33 undergraduate majors and 65 specialist majors. At present, it has 33 undergraduate majors, and it is the first university in Yunnan Province to offer two emerging majors, namely UAV system engineering and new media art, and it has begun to take shape to serve four professional clusters, namely, China-Myanmar channel construction, plateau bio-industry, teacher education and new media and new projects.
