The correct way for beginners to stand on piles.
The correct way for novices to stand piles is as follows:

I believe everyone has seen, heard and even practiced standing piles, but more people only know the appearance and superficial phenomenon of standing piles. In fact, standing piles pay great attention to the part that our eyes can't see, that is, the method. Standing piles are mainly based on the fact that our bodies are upright and our hands are round as a standing posture. So I'll share with you how this pile stands, and explain it in words below.

Grasp the ground with ten fingers.

Grasping the ground with ten fingers means that ten toes are gently buckled on the ground, that is, the joints of each toe are slightly bent. But we often say that "intention is not hard", so we use consciousness to release this force, that is to say, go down to the ground and take root, just like a big tree, take this root down, and use our consciousness instead of strength, so we try our best to keep relaxed in muscles.

Slightly bend one's leg

In fact, during our practice of standing piles, every joint of our body is slightly bent. When our legs and knees are connected to our cola, our knees are taken out separately to discuss the slight bending of our legs (don't bend beyond our toes).

The so-called slight flexion means to bend slightly on the basis of standing straight, that is, to keep a slightly bent state. It doesn't need us to squat and bend hard, but it can't be straight. When our legs stand straight; Or when we squat and bend, our bones will affect our capillaries and the operation of our qi and blood to a certain extent, so we keep every joint slightly bent in the essentials of every movement, including grasping the ground with our fingers mentioned above.

About sitting and crotch

Hips occupy a very important position in our whole body, because the middle part of our whole body connects our legs, mainly by our hips. We often say it again: "Being in it is peaceful and comfortable". Then keep the upper body upright, so that the crotch can't swing from side to side, and find the feeling of sinking, just like sitting on a stool.

Hips are prone to several problems, one is pushing forward, the other is leaning backward, and the other is swinging left and right, so these four directions cannot be the strength of hips, and the strength of hips can only be downward. Only when the hips are really down can our upper body stay upright. If our upper body shakes, swings from side to side, leans forward and leans back, then the problem must be the crotch.

A loose waist

Its roots are in the feet, its strength is in the legs, it dominates the waist and walks on the fingers. So our waist is a very key part in the whole practice process. So in the pile, the key to the waist is to loosen the waist and relax our waist. Our whole limb movement, foot movement and hand movement are all connected by the waist, and we don't try to relax at any time.

When our waist is relaxed, the waist will protrude slightly backward and the lower abdomen will be slightly inward, but the lower abdomen should be relaxed. Sometimes it's time to relax our waist, or in the process of standing piles, our lower abdomen and waist will naturally be tense.

Drop your shoulders and elbows.

In the process of practice, pay attention to: in one go. The top and bottom are closely connected, which is a very important one in the practice process. So how can the hand movements be consistent with our body movements? It is essential to sink your shoulders and lower your elbows! To sink your shoulders is to relax your shoulders. In the process of standing piles, many people will deliberately put down their elbows, but in fact, your elbows will fall, but you will break your wrists.

Therefore, under normal circumstances, no matter whether the elbow is placed very high or very low, there will be a feeling that the elbow sinks, which is also a state that we often say is "not hard". So it has nothing to do with putting our elbows like this.

The tiger's mouth collapses, and ten guides are strong.

In our hands, we are talking about the tiger's mouth, and the tiger's mouth collapses to guide the power. Just like grasping the ground with ten fingers mentioned above, it is very important that the strength should go deep into the ground, so our hands should bend slightly through our fingers and then pull the strength out of our bodies.

Because our blood vessels, the blood vessels farthest from our hearts, are in our fingers and toes. Our hands guide our strength, on the other hand, they also draw our spirit. Only when qi and blood can be achieved can our strength be achieved. Qi and blood can't reach, and neither can our strength.

Pull back with your chest

As mentioned above, our whole spine is S-shaped, so when our waist and crotch are in place, our spine will actually be pulled into a slight bow, so it is called "five bows on the back" in martial arts. The spine is a very important bow in our body. Then, if the lower part of our entire spine is sitting on our hips and our waist is loose, then we should pay attention to our back and neck. This place has also formed the shape of a bow, so this is called chest pull back.

Our backs must be pulled up with all our strength, and our chests must be slightly inward. This and our heavy shoulders are also the main points of action together. At the same time, on the basis of our chest, it is also a way to concentrate our whole strength. At the same time, it is also a way to wrap the two shoulder blades behind us like a circle.

Virtual collar jacking force

We said that if God can lift it, he can lift it. Then our kidney is the innate foundation, and our kidney qi rises completely from our spine and then reaches Baihui point above our heads, so there is a key point in the pile called virtual collar top. Then the virtual collar jacking strength is actually probably our Baihui point, a little ahead. Then why doesn't it use virtual collar strength instead of Baihui point?

In other words, in nothingness, to understand the upward force, in other words, is what we say: it is not difficult to use your heart. Gently draw our Baihui point up, and then at the same time, our chin should be slightly retracted, so that our Baihui point can be drawn up.

Shuangtong curtain

In the process of standing piles, if our eyes are like practicing actual combat and martial arts, we can look as far as possible. But if we practice health, we can hang our eyes. Binocular drape means that our two eyelids are gently pulled down like curtains to keep our entire eyebrows, including our entire forehead, relaxed and our eyes closed gently.

Many friends have also asked me if I should put my tongue on my palate. Actually, I didn't have to put my tongue on my palate when I first learned to stand on a pile. However, if you want to continue to study in depth and learn health preservation in the direction of Taoist practice, you can try to stick your tongue to the upper jaw and then gently buckle your upper and lower teeth to keep our cheek muscles relaxed.
