Northern Anhui is an important sector of Anhui's economic development and an important channel for Anhui Province to move northward and westward. At the end of 2008, based on the current situation of population, resources, infrastructure and cadres in northern Anhui, the Anhui Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government issued "Several Opinions on Accelerating the Development of Northern Anhui and Some Cities and Counties along the Huaihe River", which for the first time raised the revitalization of northern Anhui to a level related to the overall development of the province. A series of measures have been intensively introduced, such as the ten articles of the new and old countries, the minutes of Suzhou meeting, the cooperative construction of parks, the support of cadres and talents, and the construction of the pioneering area for the coordinated development of the "four modernizations" in northern Anhui. Bengbu will consolidate and upgrade its position as a regional comprehensive transportation hub, build an important photovoltaic, biological, fine chemical, equipment manufacturing base and modern business logistics center in the whole province and even the whole country, and become an important growth pole and central city in northern Anhui. Fuyang will strengthen and consolidate its position as a regional comprehensive transportation hub, build an emerging energy and coal chemical industry base, agricultural and sideline products processing base, economic and trade logistics center and tourism center, and build it into an important city to promote the development of northern Anhui and Huanghuai areas and a central city in northwest Anhui. Huainan promotes the integration of Hehuai into the same city, builds an important national energy base, an important coal-fired power and mining machinery manufacturing base in the province, and becomes an important modern city in the Huaihe River Basin with beautiful ecology and beautiful scenery. Huaibei will build a base for coal electrification, mining machinery and equipment manufacturing and deep processing of agricultural and sideline products, and build a landscape ecological garden city. Bozhou will build a modern Chinese medicine industrial base, agricultural and sideline products processing and labor-intensive industrial base, and a healthy cultural tourism base, and become an emerging central city radiating the intersection of Anhui and Henan.
