How to punish false propaganda?
According to the Law on the Protection of Consumers' Rights and Interests, false propaganda behavior not only needs to bear the consequences of administrative punishment, but also needs to bear the corresponding liability for compensation to consumers. However, the newly revised Anti-Unfair Competition Law was implemented and revised in 20 18. According to Article 8 of China's Anti-Unfair Competition Law, business operators shall not make false or misleading commercial propaganda on the performance, function, quality, sales status, user evaluation and honor of their products, so as to deceive and mislead consumers. Operators shall not help other operators to carry out false or misleading commercial propaganda by organizing false transactions. As well as the provisions of Article 20, if a business operator violates the provisions of Article 8 of this Law by making false or misleading commercial propaganda on his goods, or by organizing false transactions to help other business operators make false or misleading commercial propaganda, the supervision and inspection department shall order him to stop the illegal act and impose a fine of more than 200,000 yuan but less than 1 million yuan; If the circumstances are serious, a fine ranging from/kloc-0 to 2 million yuan may be imposed, and the business license may be revoked.
