The strength of concrete mainly comes from the hydration of cement and water. The maintenance of concrete is to ensure that the concrete is not seriously dehydrated, prolong the "hydration" time and improve the strength of concrete. Once the inside of concrete is seriously dehydrated, watering has little effect on the strength growth of concrete in the future. Therefore, when the compacted concrete begins to solidify, it must be continuously and effectively cured. The current specification stipulates not less than seven days.

The cement floor is covered with straw and sprinkled with water, or covered with plastic film.
