Dong Zhongshu used the thinking frame of Yin-Yang and Five Elements to explain that there is some mysterious connection between man and heaven. Extending to personnel: "The righteousness of the monarch, the righteousness of the minister, the righteousness of the father, the righteousness of the son, and the righteousness of the husband and wife all take the way of yin and yang. The monarch is yang and the minister is yin; The father is yang and the son is yin; The husband is yang and the wife is yin. " He demonstrated the absoluteness of the three cardinal principles by emphasizing the importance of Yang and the disadvantage of Yin, and described the feudal hierarchy as the embodiment of God's will. He also attributed the political ruling principle of "virtue without punishment" to providence: "If you want to do something, you must ask for it yourself. The greatness of the sky lies in yin and yang, yang is virtue, yin is punishment, punishment is killing, and virtue makes a living. Therefore, Yang always lives in summer, focusing on fertility and health care, while Yin always lives in winter and accumulates in empty and useless places. In this way, I can see that God will not be punished. " Whether it is punishment or virtue, whether it is king or bully, has been a long-standing debate among thinkers since Qin and Han Dynasties. Dong Zhongshu brought the thinking frame of Yin and Yang from the teacher of Yin and Yang to solve this problem. His view of Yin and Yang Confucianism is linked with the legalist theory of rule of law and absorbs people into the Confucian ideological system.
