The origin of babentang
The core idea of Zeng Guofan's family education theory is: eight books as classics, eight treasures as latitudes, four key words (diligence and filial piety), three reasons and three unbeliefs interspersed among them, and the longitude and latitude are coherent and the context is connected, forming a complete theoretical system of family management; This theory is different from China's traditional core idea of educating future generations, and it opposes the theory that famous family trainers such as Confucius, Mencius, Zhu Xi and Yan Shi have always adhered to and put into practice. It has created outstanding great-grandchildren from generation to generation. It is of great practical significance to the educational confusion faced by almost every family in today's society.

The eight books are: reading is based on exegesis, writing poetry is based on tone, caring for relatives is based on gaining goodwill, keeping in good health is based on less anger, based on not talking nonsense, based on staying at home without money, and marching is based on not disturbing people;

The eight treasures are: books, vegetables, fish, pigs, breakfast, scanning, exams and treasures;

Sanji: filial piety, diligence and forgiveness;

Three unbeliefs: don't believe in monks and witches, don't believe in immortals, and don't believe in medicine;

Four-word formula: Diligence and filial piety (diligence and family management, respect for parents and elders, love for brothers and sisters, unity with neighbors).

In order to educate future generations, Zeng Guofan named his house in Shuangfeng Lotus Leaf Hall "Ba Ben Tang" and carved its contents on a plaque to show future generations. It is the most systematic and scientific family education hall, which brings together China's family education thoughts from ancient times to modern times. (Later, his son Ceng Jize changed it to Fu Hou Tang).

Mao Zedong and Chiang Kai-shek's military and political thoughts all come from this (such as three disciplines and eight attentions, serving the people, etc.). Zeng Guofan's letter is a pillow book for many leaders. (Ma Ying is no exception).
