Fairy Tale Town "Harrogate" —— The Mark of England (23)
Harrogate is just a stop on our way from England to Scotland, where we stayed after visiting the ancient city of York. It was already dark when I left the ancient city of York, and it was already night when I came to Harrogate. Because we have no task here, we only stay for one night and leave for England after breakfast the next day.

When I went to Harrogate for dinner, I heard the tour guide say that Harrogate is a fairy-tale town. This immediately made me curious about this town. In order to enter this fairy tale world, find and experience the feeling of fairy tales I read as a child, I have to sacrifice my rest time. Although it was already late at night, I took advantage of the time before going to bed and early the next morning to visit this small town. I don't want to miss this opportunity to enter a fairy tale. All the photos in this article were taken the next morning. I will send another article about the night view of the town to share with my friends.

Speaking of Harrogate, many people in China may not be familiar with it, even before I came here. But according to the tour guide, Harrogate is very famous in China, because there is a famous girls' middle school with many boarding students from China. More than half of the students in the Middle School Department 16 (equivalent to the second and third grades of senior high schools in China) are students from China. Since the reform, with the vigorous development of China's economy, many wealthy parents have sent their children to boarding schools in England for further study.

Harrogate is a small city with a small population, but most people who live here are very rich. The house prices here are more expensive than those in nearby Leeds and Bradford. And you can clearly feel that the house decoration here is very particular. Generally, there are stone statues or floral decorations in the courtyard of private houses, and the lawn in front is also trimmed very smoothly. Interesting reading glasses and scene sculptures, as well as the design of courtyard walls and entrance doors, all inadvertently reflect the local people's taste in life. Most of the buildings here are Victorian, Tudor and English traditional buildings, and the fa? ade is neat and beautiful.

Harrogate, located in North Yorkshire, England, is a very comfortable small city. This town is famous for 19 and the hot springs held by many British nobles in the 20th century. It is said that the spring water here contains pure natural minerals. As early as16th century, it was very popular to keep in good health. It's a pity that we don't have time and opportunity to enjoy it.

It is said that this quiet town is foggy, but we seldom meet a sunny morning. Walking in the street in the morning, you can feel that the environment of the whole town is old and quiet. Most of the residents living here are children and middle-aged and elderly people. The tour guide says it's sunny, so the locals like to come to the bench in the square to have a rest in the sun and live a leisurely and comfortable life.

Harrogate also has a famous "Dragon Avenue". The name of this road is strange. Although there is no Chinese architecture in this small town, the name of this street reminds people of China, because the dragon is the royal totem in ancient China, and the descendants of the dragon are often the unique names of China people. In fact, such a name is not uncommon in the west. Isn't there a brave and invincible dragon in the popular American TV series Game of Thrones a few years ago? So the dragon is also a myth in Europe, and it is not surprising that there is a dragon road here.

It is reported that there is another world-famous activity in Harrogate, namely Harrogate International Art Festival, a summer art activity. Harrogate Art Festival, with a long history of 36 years, is a brand festival in Britain. Symphonic music and classical music are the main programs of the festival. Famous conductors, orchestras and artists who are active on the international stage will bring pure artistic enjoyment to the audience, and for the majority of fans, it is endless temptation to witness the master's elegant demeanor with their own eyes. The British media called it "a dazzling light on the British Isles". But we came at a bad time and missed the art festival.
