Dry skin in winter, how to replenish water?
"Dry" is the invisible killer of skin in autumn, so an important course of skin care in autumn and winter is hydrating. Only by doing a good job of hydrating, whitening and sunscreen can get twice the result with half the effort. Moisturizing and hydrating are two closely related beauty steps. Replenishing water is to increase the water content of skin, and moisturizing is to form a protective film on the skin surface to prevent water evaporation.

Many human skin problems occur in the dermis, but skin care ingredients need to pass through the "well-organized" epidermis if they want to reach the dermis. Unfortunately, many artificial skin care ingredients have no effect on the dermis, because their molecules are too large to pass through the epidermis.

Essential oils are different. Essential oil comes from small molecular aromatic substances of plants brought out by steam transpiration, which is small and shows strong permeability. They can easily penetrate the epidermis, enter the dermis and improve the skin.

Strictly speaking, essential oil can't replenish water, because it is oil, not water. What can really replenish water is pure dew. What can essential oil do? Can improve the "moisture content" of the skin! The aromatic molecule that can increase skin moisture content is citronellol! Geranium, for example, contains this ingredient.

Suitable essential oil

Sandalwood essential oil and rose essential oil are two kinds of essential oils with good hydrating effect in autumn, which have contraction function, can effectively control oil, replenish water needed by skin, shrink pores and promote skin metabolism. In addition, essential oils such as jasmine, lemon, bergamot, cypress, frankincense, orange, chamomile, geranium, fennel and so on. It can also deeply nourish the skin, so that you can have moist skin in dry autumn and winter.

In addition to essential oils, vegetable oils can also retain water. The famous "liquid gold"-jojoba oil, because most of the ingredients are plant wax, is an oil that can breathe without losing water.
