Yin and Yang Properties of Food
Food can be divided into three categories according to the different properties of yin and yang: positive food, negative food and sexual food.
(1) positive food
Positive food refers to food with warm sex and taste. For example, noodles, wine, dog meat, mutton, mustard greens, carrots, green onions, garlic, ginger and leeks in staple foods, peppers in conditioning, lychee, peach, longan, jujube, dark plum and orange in fruits.
(2) Negative food
The so-called negative food refers to the food with a cold taste. For example, buckwheat and mung bean in the staple food, soybean milk, duck eggs, tofu, lobster sauce, crab, turtle, sea cucumber and laver in the non-staple food, celery, eggplant, spinach, bitter gourd, water spinach and cucumber in the vegetables, and pears, oranges and watermelons in the fruits.
(3) Eat flat food
The so-called plain food refers to three kinds of food with balanced tastes: warm, cold and cool. For example, rice, glutinous rice and soybeans in staple food, pork, rabbit meat, carp and squid in non-staple food, gourd, pumpkin, tomato, mushroom and lotus root in vegetables, apples, bazan and grapes in fruits.
