-Tell me about Juanzi Swallow's calligraphy.
Text/Qiu Zi
Nowadays, there are more and more calligraphy lovers, especially after 70' s, 80' s and 90' s, calligraphers emerge one after another, and new people come forth in large numbers, which shows us the hope of calligraphy development in China. It is gratifying that young calligraphers Yan Zi (Li Shuyan) and Juanzi (Li Shujuan) are among the contemporary book circles.
Swallow and Juanzi were originally from Huining, Gansu. Both sisters are "post-70s". Influenced by their ancestors, they gradually embarked on the road of calligraphy. Mr. Yu Xu said that you can't learn law, but you will always write vulgar books. Although the four words are biased, for them, they are mainly two kings, and they also involve Mi Fei, Wang Duo and other ancient sages, trying to realize their pursuit of calligraphy. In particular, after they participated in the training and study of the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Institute, they wandered through a large number of inscriptions similar to "Avalokitesvara with a Thousand Hands" and drew nutrition from the ancient times, not only from regular script, running script and cursive script, but also from books such as seal script and official script. At the same time, they studied seal cutting, painting and poetry creation, and comprehensively improved their artistic accomplishment, cultural education and self-cultivation. In the expression of calligraphy style, in the past, swallows used cursive script as their meaning, while Juanzi used regular script as their multiplication, but their respective performance characteristics were different. However, reading their latest book is obviously eye-catching. Their approaches are wider, their techniques are more mature and their connotations are richer. As the two sisters said in the diary of learning books, "after these months of study, we have gained a lot and gained some new experiences and insights in learning books." We seem to have found the feeling of' natural growth' in writing words and compositions that teachers often say, which is shaped by the situation, not mechanically copied. Through the combination of various modeling elements, such as the size of the front, the length of the thickness, the opening and closing, the density of the virtual and the real, etc., we can grasp the overall life and rhythm, just as Mr. Wo (Xinghua) said. Therefore, there have also been new breakthroughs in creation. "
Looking at Juanzi's recent works, I think there are several main characteristics: First, I carefully read the posts and ponder over them, the calligraphy is extensive and in-depth, the structure is modeled, the strokes are used, the lines are drawn, and the comparison between reality and reality is meticulous. I seek legal principles from sages and monuments and nourish myself, such as their running script, regular script and cursive script. The second is to get close to the sages and embark on a traditional and elegant road with personal characteristics. Their calligraphy, trying to make waves in the two kings and their veins, has already enriched their solid calligraphy The third is to improve quality and knowledge in an all-round way. Not only calligraphy, but also painting, seal cutting and poetry are striving for all-round development. Please listen to a five-character poem "Random Thoughts" written by Swallow Juanzi. I'm sure it's not that you're not moved-it's not that I send flower baskets blindly, but that I covet and interpret their calligraphy life as a culture: "Autumn leaves are red, ink and wash are blue. Beautiful mountains and rivers, poetic and picturesque. The long river lifts Jinlang, and auspicious smoke rises in Nanshan. Wear Alinxiu to draw tomorrow! "
In fact, the Juanzi sisters are somewhat different in personality characteristics, methods of learning books and feelings.
Swallow is very quiet, and doesn't like noise. Take silence in the noise, sit down and read carefully, post, taste and think. Her calligraphy went straight into the blood and absorbed the essence of blood, starting from Cao Quan and turning to Seventeen Articles and Preface to the Holy Teaching, and found her own aesthetic orientation from Mi Fei's ink and wash. She has the habit of watching others write. She believes that watching famous writers write is the fastest way to improve. From there, you can understand the unified relationship between the writing process and your works, and experience the aesthetic atmosphere of the writer's thinking, pen use and overall composition. Therefore, in the process of reading, she often carefully ponders the feelings and interests of books, and after chewing and digesting, she becomes a living soul under her wrist. When she came to Chunhua Pavilion Post, with her profound calligraphy skills, she endowed her calligraphy lines with vitality, agility and authenticity, thus giving her calligraphy a bearing and grace, full of strength, emptiness and beauty.
Juanzi is straightforward and cheerful, persistent in his work and has an indomitable spirit. Once everything is decided, he will devote himself to staying at home for a few days, studying writing hard and trying to shape his own style image. The extroverted nature makes her eyes more quaint and simple. She is a pilgrim in stele study. Weibei inherited Tang Kai, which has both charm and Li Tangkai's charm. She took the regular script of Fabei and learned a lot from Zhang Heinv. She has been in business for many years. She once praised the tact and sophistication of Zhao's "Di Wei face"; I also appreciate Wang Duo's visual effect taken out of context, blending with the meaning of seal cutting, and creating it with ascending ink ... But Juanzi has changed recently, and it is really a grass seal. "The tempering is still tough, and the wind is as big as the east, west, north and south." Her calligraphy motivation comes from her calligraphy teaching. She is not only a student (doing homework according to the teacher's requirements), but also a teacher (seriously thinking about how to make the most dynamic things of calligraphy reflected in the rules and nourish the students' souls), carefully combing, appreciating and exploring, and learning without mud. Looking at Juanzi's writing, you will find her pen very free and easy. She doesn't deliberately deflect in the room, but uses a pen in place, paying attention to smooth, rigid and powerful expression. "Go deep into the tiger's den and catch the tiger."
Art is a symbolic expression of an artist's personal feelings. It must show the artist's own unique emotion, and this emotion must be true from the heart. From this point of view, Juanzi the Swallow has reached a kind of truth, artistic authenticity and exquisite pen and ink skills, and gradually approached the artistic noumenon and authenticity. We should see that the success of their calligraphy has a solid root system. Although they pay attention to the tradition of iron and blood, they live in Longshang, a place rich in cultural blood, where Chinese characters and calligraphy in China originated and flourished for a long time. They were deeply impressed by the cliff stone carvings, broken tiles, bamboo slips and silk books on Longshang. These traditional aesthetic elements have nurtured their calligraphy foundation and nourished their artistic soul, so they dare to write and laugh today. But it should be admitted that their works tend to be as beautiful and elegant as Jiangnan. Whether or not to reflect the bold and unconstrained style characteristics of the northwest region requires them to rethink, reconstruct and locate the future trend of their calligraphy and their "aesthetic power" and "cultural power". There is a story in Master Zhuangzi's Health Preservation, which tells us that ear nail is not only a technology, but also an art, thus reaching the highest state of Tao pursued by the ancients. As far as artistic calligraphy is concerned, it is the law and principle that "technology enters art, art enters Tao, and Tao reaches God". The brushwork is "skill", "art" is the law of form, and "Tao" is the realm and spirit of "communication with God". This is a question worthy of deep thought and reflection by every calligrapher. Obviously, Juanzi Swallow's calligraphy has gone through two levels: "skill" and "art". If she crosses the two levels of "Tao" and "God" and has a stronger personality, then I believe that they will be comparable to contemporary great calligraphers.
Juanzi the Swallow told me that they think writing is a bit boring, and they want to read more books, draw pictures, print and write something. Of course, I sincerely affirmed their ideas.
Speaking of this, I always feel that I am still unfinished. When I am excited, I get a poem, which is the encouragement and expectation of my sisters in the book industry:
Dare to compete with men, Bloom Mohai reflects Zhu Yan.
Books turn into celebrities, and jurisprudence seeks sages.
It means wrapping the front, pursuing elegance, and feeling that Fiona Fang is controlled at the bottom of the wrist.
I'm used to listening to Tao roar, but I'm tired of listening to clear soup Tielian.
Juanzi and Yanzi are going to publish their calligraphy collections and asked me for a preface. Appreciating mo Xiang calligraphy works, I feel that I have made remarkable progress. I have no reason to refuse, so I happily wrote this passage.
This is a sequence.
