Rukai graduated from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine with a bachelor's degree in health and rehabilitation, a master's degree in acupuncture and massage, and a doctor's degree in Qigong. Currently, he is an associate professor in the teaching and research section of Wushu and health preservation in Capital Institute of Physical Education, and a tutor for master students majoring in national traditional sports health preservation. Visiting scholar of Oriental Philosophy at Renmin University of China, director of World Medical Qigong Society and director of China Medical Qigong Society. He has been practicing and studying the traditional technique of relaxing tendons and washing pulp for many years. He is a descendant of Shaolin Baduanjin and Yijinjing, and one of the declarers and leaders of the Beijing Wushu Intangible Cultural Heritage Project "Zhang San Kung Fu". One of the founders of the six-character formula of health qigong compiled by the State Sports General Administration, he is a national social sports instructor and a national referee of health qigong.

He is good at Tai Ji Chuan and Changquan. He is currently teaching martial arts in the Physical Education Department of Hebei University of Technology, mainly engaged in the teaching and research of martial arts, Chinese medicine culture, Chinese medicine qigong and fitness qigong.
