Located in the lower reaches of Chao Phraya River, it is the capital of Thailand, the national political, economic, cultural and transportation center, and the second largest city in Southeast Asia. Grand palace
Located on the east bank of the rippling Chao phraya River in the center of Bangkok, the Grand Palace was the earliest palace built after the establishment of the Bangkok dynasty. Built in Rama I, it has undergone the expansion of the king and formed today's scale. The Grand Palace consists of five buildings: the outer palace, the main palace, the inner palace, the Sivare Imperial Garden and the Jade Buddha Temple. Jiehui Palace, Lushi Palace and Amalgam Palace, which are mainly open to tourists now.
The Grand Palace consists of a group of scattered buildings, which embodies the essence of painting, sculpture and decorative arts. There are 22 buildings in the Grand Palace complex. At the first gate of the Grand Palace, on the right is Shahatai Palace. It used to be the king's private museum, but now it is the place where the king and queen meet the distinguished guests. Inside the second door, there is a magnificent three-story building, which is the main hall of the Grand Palace-Jiehui Palace and the place where the king held his inauguration ceremony. The first floor is the reading room, and the exhibits include palace treasures; The second floor is the hall where the ceremony is held. It is said that in the past, King Tai rode an elephant into the palace, so the palace doors were extremely high. The palace consists of the main hall and the left and right side halls, and three gorgeous conical spires stand high at the top of the hall. The main part of the hall imitates the Gothic architecture in late Western Europe. The roof is a multi-faceted Thai roof, which is a palace with walls in Taixi.
Lushi Palace, located on the side of Jiehui Palace, was built in Rama I period and is a pure Thai palace. There are two gates in the palace, and the door body and the tower ornaments at the top are all painted in gold, which is solemn. Nowadays, there are ashes of kings, queens and individual members of the royal family in the temple, and the throne of "Mother of Pearls" is also placed, and the fine carving is second to none in Thailand. This palace is used to hold state ceremonies. It is said that when the Law Palace was built, nails and screws were not used, but were all made of wood.
Amar Palace, located on the other side of Jiehui Palace, was built in Rama I era, when it was the seat of the Supreme Court of Thailand, and later became the place where the monarch met his subjects. Now important ceremonies, such as the king's birthday celebration or the awarding ceremony, are held here. The palace is made of Thai gold-plated carved lacquer. The palace is not high, and the top of the hall is triangular, divided into three layers, and the layers are low. Looking from a distance, I saw a golden yellow and green glazed tile, which was row upon row and magnificent.
There are two oval squares in front of the Grand Palace, with lush trees on both sides, surrounded by major universities, government agencies, national museums, national grand theatre, national art gallery and patron saint temple in Bangkok. In the palace square of the Grand Palace, nowadays, every Spring Farming Festival and Thai New Year, the king will host a celebration ceremony here. There are tall white palace walls around the Grand Palace. At present, the Grand Palace is the office of some state organs in Thailand.
Jade Buddha Temple
Jade Buddha Temple is the most famous Buddhist temple in Thailand. It is located in the northeast corner of the Grand Palace and is a part of the Grand Palace. It is named after a jade Buddha enshrined in a temple. Built in 1784, it is a place where the royal family worships jade buddhas and holds religious ceremonies. Jade Buddha Temple, also known as Huguo Temple, is a famous temple in Southeast Asia and the only Buddhist temple in Thailand where no monks live. The jade Buddha in this temple ranks alongside the reclining Buddha and the golden Buddha in Bangkok as the three national treasures of Thailand. Jade Buddha Temple is the largest temple in China, with magnificent overall architecture, magnificent towers and promenades, which almost concentrate the characteristics of various Buddhist temples in Thailand. It embodies the characteristics of ancient Thai architecture and art, and is known as the artistic treasure of Thai Buddhist architecture, sculpture and painting. In the Jade Buddha Temple, people can also see a flower wall with plum blossom, chrysanthemum, peony and bird patterns inlaid with colored porcelain, which was brought here by Zheng He, a great navigator of China in the Ming Dynasty, on his third voyage to the West. The main building of the Jade Buddha Temple is the Jade Buddha Hall. A jade Buddha with a height of 66 cm and a width of 48 cm is enshrined in the shrine in the center of the temple. The Buddha statue is placed on a golden platform with a height of 1 1 m. Jade Buddha is covered with priceless witch hazel. Jade Buddha is beautifully carved and flawless. It is the most sacred Buddha statue in the hearts of Thai Buddhists and a rare treasure of the country. According to Thai tradition, the King of Thailand personally changes the robe for the Jade Buddha every year: in hot season, he will change into a gold coat with rubies, in rainy season, he will wear a gold coat with sapphires, and in cool season, he will wear a gold coat with pure gold. The combination of gold and jade is bling and dazzling. There are nine golden umbrellas hanging on it, and crystal balls representing the sun and the moon are on both sides. Six bronze lions were placed in front of the Jade Buddha Hall, guarding the gate of the temple. In temples, except the Jade Buddha Hall, the roofs of most important buildings are decorated with spires, which has become a major feature of Buddhist temples. Each spire is decorated with celluloid, painted porcelain and gold foil, which is dazzling. The most striking spires are the Golden Pagoda, the Holy Scripture Hall and the former King's Hall. The second feature of the Buddhist temple is that the architectural decoration is gorgeous and colorful. It is really rich in gold and magnificent. The third feature of the Buddhist temple is the cloister mural one kilometer around the Buddhist temple, which is a series of murals of The Story of Rama Construction. This painting embodies the perfect unity of God, Buddha and king.
Four-faced Buddha
Four-faced Buddha is one of the three main gods of Brahmanism, which means "Brahma" and is called "Pabon" in Thai. To be exact, it is a god, not a Buddha. "Four-faced Buddha" is the Chinese name of this Buddha statue. The four-faced Buddha is located at the crossroads next to Lovers Bay Hotel in the downtown business district of Bangkok. Brahmanism believes that Brahma is the creator of all things in the world. It originally had five heads, but one was cut off by Shiva, and the remaining four heads were facing east, west, south and north respectively. It has four hands, holding Vedic classics, lotus, spoon and rosary. When people worship Buddha around, they usually use wooden statues of flowers and incense sticks, or fly sparrows. The rich hired several girls to dance in front of the Buddha to thank God for his kindness. Many tourists, especially China people from Hongkong and Singapore, often come here to worship the Four Faces Buddha. It is said that in order to make the four-faced Buddha manifest, all four faces of the four-faced Buddha should be worshipped clockwise when worshiping Buddha and offering incense, because all four faces represent kindness (benevolence), sadness (sadness), happiness (auspiciousness) and gold (giving), otherwise it will not work. Now the four-faced Buddha has become a tourist attraction for people to travel, sightseeing and worship.
Water market
Bangkok is low-lying and densely covered with rivers. Farmers in the suburbs often take boats early in the morning, carrying agricultural products into the city and trading on the river, thus forming a lively and extraordinary water market. This is a tourist attraction with Thai characteristics. In the market, ships selling goods shuttle back and forth on the canal, and the houses of residents in water towns on both sides of the river bank constitute a typical map of Bangkok. The floating market has always maintained a simple peasant water town sentiment. Farmers and vendors on the ship, when selling goods to tourists, use long bamboo poles as a medium to hand tourists bouquets and fruits. Sheyuan
Snake Garden, located in Rama 4th Road, was originally the Pasteur Institute, and it is one of only two snake research institutes in the world. The researchers specially collected samples of poisonous snakes and made their venom into antivenom for treating patients bitten by poisonous snakes. Therefore, the snake garden is also called the snake garden. There are thousands of poisonous snakes in the park. They are kept in well-equipped glass rooms. Keep the temperature and humidity suitable for the survival of snakes indoors, and have special personnel to raise and study them. There are dozens of poisonous snakes, such as Agkistrodon, Cobra, Red Snake, Golden Ring Snake and Silver Ring Snake. They either sleep and rest in circles on the ground or climb trees to move freely. When you visit the poisonous snake farm, you can sometimes see the breeder feeding poisonous snakes with white rats, and you can also see the bloody scene of the weasel fighting with poisonous snakes. Pattaya
Pattaya is located in the Gulf of Siam, about150km southeast of Bangkok. The beautiful beaches here are called "Oriental Hawaii". Pattaya was originally an unknown small fishing village.
