Traditional Chinese medicine is based on yin and yang (that is, two contradictory aspects of interrelated things), five elements (that is, five different attributes of gold, wood, water, fire and earth and their movement modes) and viscera (that is, heart, liver, spleen, lung, kidney, five internal organs and gallbladder, stomach, large intestine, small intestine, bladder, triple energizer, five internal organs and brain, marrow, bone, pulse, and so on). It is characterized by the diagnosis and treatment of animal diseases based on the principle of syndrome differentiation, and consists of a complete academic system of theory, method, prescription, medicine and acupuncture. Meridian, including criss-crossing meridians, is the channel between zang-fu organs and external collaterals, connecting the whole body and running qi and blood, which is the theoretical basis of acupuncture.
