Common operation methods of moxibustion tonic
1, direct moxibustion
Moxibustion is to put the moxa cone of appropriate size directly on the panel. If you need to burn the panel and leave a scar after healing, it is called scar moxibustion. If you don't burn the festering panel and leave no scars, it's called seamless moxibustion.
1 Scar moxibustion, also known as purulent moxibustion: When applying moxibustion, apply a small amount of garlic juice to the acupoints to increase the adhesion and * * * effect, then put the moxa stick with a suitable size on the acupoints and ignite the moxa stick with fire for moxibustion. Every strong moxa cone must be burned out, and the ashes can be removed before it can continue to live easily and then moxibustion until the specified number of strong moxibustion is over. During moxibustion, fire burns the face plate, which can cause severe pain. At this time, you can gently pat around the moxibustion point with your hand to relieve the pain. Under normal circumstances, after moxibustion 1 week, the moxibustion site will fester to form a moxibustion sore, and after about 5-6 weeks, the moxibustion sore will heal itself and leave a scar after falling off. Clinically, it is often used to treat chronic diseases such as asthma, tuberculosis and lymphoid tuberculosis.
2 seamless moxibustion
When moxibustion is applied, a small amount of vaseline is applied to acupoints to make the moxa stick easy to stick. Then put the appropriate size of moxa stick on the acupoint to ignite moxibustion. When two-fifths or one-quarter of the moxa stick remains and the patient feels slight burning pain, moxibustion can be easily re-applied. If moxa sticks with large grains of wheat are used for moxibustion, when the patient feels burning pain, the doctor can take the moxa sticks out with the handle of tweezers, and then continue to shift the moxibustion until the moxibustion is completed according to the regulations. Generally, moxibustion should be done until the regional panel is red and does not blister. Because there is no burn on its panel, it does not fester and leave no scar after moxibustion. This method can be used for general deficiency-cold diseases.
2. Indirect moxibustion
It is a moxibustion method that moxa cone is separated from the panel at the acupoints where moxibustion drugs are applied. Such as ginger moxibustion and salt moxibustion.
1 ginger moxibustion
Ginger-separated moxibustion is to cut fresh ginger into thin slices with a diameter of about 2-3 cm and a thickness of about 0, 2-0 and 3 cm, then put the ginger slices on the acupuncture points or affected areas to be moxibustion, and then put moxa cone on the ginger slices to ignite moxibustion. After the moxa stick is burned, it is easy to apply moxibustion. After moxibustion, we should press the required number of strong points to make the panel ruddy without foaming. Commonly used for vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, cold joint pain.
2. Do garlic moxibustion with fresh garlic, cut into 0, 2-0, 3 cm thick slices, put them on acupoints or affected areas, then put moxa cone on garlic slices and light moxibustion. After the moxa cone is burnt out, it is easy to wick and moxibustion again until the specified number of strong moxibustion is completed. This method is mainly used to treat scrofula, tuberculosis and initial swelling and ulcer.
3 Salt-separated moxibustion applies pure salt to the navel, or puts a thin piece of ginger on the salt and applies moxibustion with a big moxa cone. It is often used to treat typhoid yin syndrome or vomiting and diarrhea, stroke and other diseases.
4 aconite cake moxibustion will grind aconite into powder and prepare it with wine to make aconite cake with a diameter of about 3 cm and a thickness of about 0.8 cm. Punch a few holes in the middle, put them on the acupoints or affected areas to be moxibustion, and then put moxa cone moxibustion until the specified number is strong. It is often used to treat impotence, premature ejaculation or chronic ulcer caused by decreased vital energy.
3, moxa stick moxibustion
1 Moxibustion of moxa sticks Take 24 grams of pure and soft moxa sticks, spread them flat on fine grass paper with a length of 26 cm and a width of 20 cm, and roll them into cylindrical rolls of moxa sticks with a diameter of about 1 cm and 5 cm. It is required to roll them tightly, wrap them with soft, loose and tough mulberry paper, and seal them with glue or paste. And 6 grams of fine powder of cinnamon, dried ginger, clove, angelica pubescens, asarum, angelica dahurica and realgar infiltrated into each moxa stick to form a medicine stick. Moxibustion can be divided into mild moxibustion and bird pecking moxibustion.
2 Mild Moxibustion When moxibustion is applied, one end of the moxa stick is lit, aiming at the acupuncture point or the affected part, about 2-3 cm away from the panel, and fumigation moxibustion is carried out. It should be smoked and baked to make patients feel warm, and there is no burning pain in this part. Generally, moxibustion lasts for 5-7 minutes in each place until the panel is red. For patients with fainting and regional insensitivity, the doctor can separate the middle finger from the index finger and place them on both sides of the moxibustion site respectively, and measure the regional heating degree of the patient through the feeling of the doctor's fingers, so as to adjust the moxibustion distance at any time and prevent burns.
Bird pecking moxibustion: During moxibustion, the lighting end of the moxa stick is not fixed at a certain distance from the panel where moxibustion is applied, but moxibustion is performed up and down like a bird pecking. In addition, you can move up and down or left and right evenly or apply moxibustion repeatedly.
4. Warm acupuncture
Warm acupuncture is a combination of acupuncture and moxibustion, which is suitable for diseases that require both needle retention and moxibustion. In operation, after needling into the acupoints to get qi, appropriate reinforcing and reducing methods are given to keep the needles, and then pure and soft moxa is pinched at the needle end, or a moxa stick with a length of about 2 cm is inserted on the needle handle to ignite moxibustion. After burning the moxa stick or moxa stick, remove the ashes and take out the needle.
5, warm moxibustion moxibustion
Warm moxibustion is a cylindrical moxibustion tool specially made of metal, so it is also called warm moxibustion. The bottom of the cylinder is sharp and flat, and a small cylinder is sleeved inside the cylinder, and there are holes around the small cylinder. When moxibustion is applied, moxa or medicine is added into the small barrel of the warm moxibustion apparatus, and the cover of the warm moxibustion apparatus is fastened after ignition, so that it can be placed at the acupuncture point or moxibustion site for ironing moxibustion until the face plate of the moxibustion site is rosy. It has the functions of harmonizing qi and blood, warming middle warmer and dispelling cold.
Optimum time of moxibustion
Chinese medicine experts pointed out that the most suitable season for Chinese medicine moxibustion therapy is summer. Because there are few clothes to wear in summer, moxibustion at home is very convenient even if you don't go to the hospital, unlike moxibustion at home when you take off your clothes in winter, which is easy to catch a cold. Moreover, when the weather is hot, the human body is more sensitive to temperature and is not easy to be burned. Most importantly, moxibustion in summer conforms to the theory of "treating winter diseases in summer" in traditional Chinese medicine.
Chinese medicine believes that people with yang deficiency and qi deficiency are more suitable for acupuncture therapy. Most of the sick people belong to yang deficiency constitution. Artemisia argyi leaves are warm and belong to pure yang. Moxibustion can warm meridians, dispel cold and dampness, and tonify human yang. Summer happens to be the time when the yang in nature is the heaviest, and the yang and heat of the two are combined, and the warming effect is stronger. Therefore, moxibustion can achieve the best nourishing effect in the summer with the most sunshine in nature.
