Cultivation methods and precautions of Taxodium ascendens to avoid water accumulation in the basin.
Abies australis is one of the three major ornamental trees in the world. Abies australis is very tenacious, resistant to both humidity and drought, evergreen all year round, and can survive the winter as long as it is kept above zero. It is also one of the masters of air purification, which is very suitable for long-term maintenance indoors with insufficient light. So how is Australian fir cultivated? Is there any good way to breed? What should I pay attention to when breeding Australian fir? Please read with me with questions!

Cultivation method of Taxodium ascendens (basic knowledge): the best breeding time: the breeding method of Taxodium ascendens can be divided into two parts, and the time should be in spring and summer.

Best growing soil: Taxodium ascendens is suitable for slightly acidic sandy loam with good drainage and rich humus. When potted, the mixed substrate of garden soil, humus soil and sphagnum moss is better.

Growth humidity requirements: Abies australis can withstand high temperature, but not the scorching sun. Keep the basin soil moist, increase the number of water sprays, improve the air humidity and pay attention to ventilation.

Optimum growth temperature: the optimum growth temperature of Taxodium ascendens is 10 ~ 25℃, and the overwintering temperature is above 5℃. Taxodium ascendens can grow all year round except that the temperature exceeds 32℃ in summer.

Best growth light: Abies australis likes diffuse light and should be placed in a bright place in the shed. If you leave it in the dark for a long time, you should move it to the sun for proper irradiation every few weeks, so as to keep the thick green leaves beautiful.

Matters needing attention in Abies australis cultivation: Fertilization: Abies australis should be fertilized every two weeks during the growing season, and the compound fertilizer containing nitrogen and potassium is suitable. Insufficient supply of fertilizer tends to turn the branches and leaves yellow.

Water supply point:

1. The frequency of watering Chinese fir during maintenance depends on the humidity of the basin soil. In summer, under normal circumstances, watering twice a week is enough. The control of watering in winter can be reduced once compared with that in summer.

2. Australian fir should be watered more in spring and autumn, but water should be avoided in the basin. When drying at high temperature, water should be sprayed on potted plants and nearby ground to cool and humidify. Water in time, don't wait for the soil to dry before watering. Since late autumn, watering should be gradually reduced to enhance its cold resistance.

3. In summer, when the soil in the basin is in a semi-dry state, water around the basin. If the weather is very dry, spray water around the Australian fir bonsai to increase the humidity of the air and create a humid and suitable environment for it.

Pruning essentials: Under normal circumstances, Australian fir does not need to prune branches and let them grow naturally.

Pot changing: Taxodium ascendens generally changes pots every 2 to 3 years 1 time. It is best to choose fertile, loose and well-drained sandy soil for basin soil.

Breeding points: Taxodium ascendens mainly depends on seeds, but cuttings can also breed offspring.

1, the seedlings cultivated by sowing are robust and suitable for mass reproduction. Generally, in July and August, newly collected seeds will first destroy the seed coat to promote germination, otherwise the seeds will rot easily if they are left in the soil for a long time, and then the treated seeds will be planted in a sand bed and covered with fine sand of about 1.5 ~ 2 cm. It can germinate in about 2 ~ 3 weeks at 25 ~ 28℃ and a certain humidity, and can be planted immediately after germination.

2. When cutting, if the main shaft or long branches are selected as cuttings, it is easy to cause the crown shape of the plant to be incorrect and can only grow horizontally, which will affect the ornamental value. Cut 2 ~ 3 tips of robust branches that are easy to take root into cuttings, remove some leaves, soak them in clear water overnight, and then insert them into sand beds based on coarse sand or vermiculite. Maintaining the temperature of 20 ~ 25℃ and high air humidity can take root after about 3 months.

Pest control: there are few pests and diseases in Chinese fir. Scale insects are more common in indoor maintenance. It can be controlled by spraying pesticides, chlorpyrifos, EC and the death of Guoguang scale insects, and the effect is good.

Experience in cultivating Chinese fir: the growing period is 1, summer and autumn. Potted plants can be placed in the semi-shade outside, or in a well-ventilated place with windows open. Avoid exposure to the hot sun above 35℃, and do not place it in the dark for a long time. This will cause the branches and leaves to wither or grow white, which will affect the ornamental value.

2. In the process of growth, in order to avoid the trunk leaning to one side, it is advisable to turn the pot once every half month to make the plants receive light evenly. In addition, the trunk of young trees is fragile and easy to bend and deform, so it is advisable to set up pillars to fix the trunk from the time of young trees.

3. Australian fir likes plenty of light, but it should avoid the scorching sun. Spring is the period when new branches and leaves grow, so it is necessary to ensure sufficient light, otherwise the new branches and leaves will be tall and thin, the branch spacing will be widened, and the plant type will be compact, which will affect the beauty of the tree.

4. When the light is insufficient, the leaves of Taxodium ascendens are easy to turn yellow, droop or even fall off, so it should be arranged in a place with sufficient light for cultivation and appreciation in spring. Keep the soil moist in spring and pay attention to fertilization. When Chinese fir grows to a certain height, it should be fertilized less or not to inhibit its growth.

5. When the temperature is high, Chinese fir consumes a lot of water and needs to replenish the water in the basin. The soil dried prematurely, and the lower leaves drooped or even withered, losing ornamental value, and finally forming a broken foot.

Treatment of rotten roots of Taxodium ascendens;

1, timely ventilation, keep the breeding environment dry.

2. Pay attention to the disinfection of cultivation substrates and flowerpots.

3. After transplantation, remove the sprained and rotten tissue at the top of the root, then spray the wound with Sukeling, dry it and plant it.

4. At the initial stage of the disease, the aboveground parts were sprayed with 50% bacitracin wettable powder or 800% thiophanate-methyl wettable powder every 10 day, and the underground parts were watered with 400-600 times of 70% mancozeb wettable powder for 2-3 times.

5. If pythium is active, you can spray Pulik, Tujunling and Yishuangling.
