In the fourth year of the Republic of China (19 15), Xiji (Meng Xi) was located in Songtao County. 1In May, 1992, the town was built and removed from the township, and merged with Hongyan and Muer Township to establish Mengqian Town. By the end of 20 18, Mengqian Town had a registered population of 34,538. In 1956, Songtao Miao Autonomous County (hereinafter referred to as Songtao) under the jurisdiction of tongren city was established, which was one of the earliest autonomous counties approved by the State Council.
