The diameter shall not be less than 5MM, the spacing shall not be greater than 120MM, the length of steel bars extending into the load-bearing masonry shall not be less than 250MM, the thickness of mortar layer shall not be less than 30MM, and the mortar used for brick lintels shall not be less than M5.0, and the span shall not be greater than1.5m. For houses with heavy vibration load or possible uneven settlement, reinforced concrete lintels should be used instead of brick lintels.

Generally, the diameter of steel bars is 6-8 mm, and two or three bars are sandwiched. Reinforced brick lintel refers to a flat lintel in which the reinforcement and mortar in the brick joint are not less than M5.0 Reinforced brick lintel refers to the lintel formed by adding appropriate amount of steel bars in the mortar joint of flat brick, and the steel bars in the mortar at the bottom.
