Brief introduction of Sun Simiao: The story of Sun Simiao, the drug king, saving lives.
Sun Simiao, a doctor in Tang Dynasty. Jing is a local. When I was young, I studied medicine because of illness, and I had a deep research on medicine. I dabbled in hundreds of classic history and learned Buddhist scriptures. He summarized the clinical experience and medical theory before the Tang Dynasty, collected prescriptions, acupuncture and other contents, and wrote more than a thousand prescriptions. Advocate medical ethics and attach importance to maternal and child diseases. It is new and systematic to establish the classification of dirty diseases and dirty diseases. It has made great contributions to prevention, health preservation, acupuncture, pharmacology and clinical diagnosis and treatment of various diseases.

Sun Simiao was born in a poor family. When he was a weak child, his parents had to take him everywhere to borrow money to treat the disease, and finally he was cured. He was sad to see that many villagers died in despair because their families were poor, sick and unable to be cured. He said: How important it is to save a life! A man's life is only once, and when he dies, he can't be resurrected, which is much more precious than gold. Gold can be earned slowly, but human life can't be bought! He is determined to study medicine and save the lives of millions of patients.

Sun Simiao studied hard and soon became a knowledgeable doctor, and his reputation gradually spread to the capital Chang 'an. Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty called him into the court to see the court officials. Sun Simiao declined under the pretext of being ill. Later, he was called into the DPRK and promised the title. Tang Gaozong asked him to be a doctor's consultant, but he refused. He wants to stay in the folk forever and serve those who have no money to treat diseases.

Sun Simiao's superb medical skills are admirable. There is such a story circulating in his hometown. One day, in the street, Sun Simiao met four people carrying a coffin, ready to be buried, followed by an old woman, crying very sadly. Suddenly, he saw a few drops of blood in the coffin, so he rushed forward and asked, can you tell me who was in the coffin? How long have you been dead? The man who carried the coffin said: The coffin contained the daughter of an old woman who had just died in childbirth. Sun Simiao said: She may still be saved. Can you open the coffin and have a look? Those people thought he was bragging and didn't believe him at all. They carried the coffin and walked on. The old woman thought, anyway, people are dead, let him try, maybe there is hope of survival, so she grabbed Sun Simiao and said, you are probably a doctor, right? I only have one daughter. Can you really save her? Please have mercy! The old woman stopped the coffin carrier. Sun Simiao opened the coffin and saw that the woman inside was blue and looked terrible. I felt her pulse beating faintly. Sun Simiao chose an acupuncture point on his body and stuck a needle. Soon, the woman slowly opened her eyes and the child was born. Seeing this, everyone was dumbfounded. One shot saved two lives and brought them back to life. What a good doctor! Another time, a patient came to the door, clutching his stomach with his hands, and said in great pain, doctor, please help me. I haven't peed for days, and my stomach is bursting! Sun Simiao thought, this must be a blocked urethra. I'm afraid it's too late to take medicine. What should I do? It suddenly occurred to him, can you insert a tube into the urethra and pump out the urine? Seeing the patient in pain, Sun Simiao decided to give it a try. What is this pipe made of? It's too soft to insert, too thick. It happened that he saw the neighbor's children playing with onions, so he decided to give it a try. He chose a thin and strong onion, washed it, removed the tip of the onion, carefully inserted it into the patient's urethra, and then took a deep breath on the onion. After a while, the urine really slowly flowed out. The patient's stomach is also slowly deflated. Sun Simiao once again solved a difficult problem, and he became the inventor of catheterization.

Sun Simiao lived in the mountains for a long time in his life. Many people in the mountains have big neck disease. At that time, doctors used seaweed to treat this disease. However, it is difficult to see seaweed in mountainous areas. Sun Simiao remembered a common saying: Eat to nourish the heart, eat to nourish the liver. So, can you treat this disease with sheep ytterbium? He tried to buy sheep weight for the patient, and the patient's neck gradually swelled up. At that time, Sun Simiao didn't know what it was, but his handling was correct. Suffering from big neck disease is due to iodine deficiency, which is rich in sheep fat, so it can be cured.

Sun Simiao also used pig liver and ox liver to treat night blindness, and rice bran and bran to treat beriberi, all of which achieved good results. Sun Simiao also advocated that people should not sleep with their heads covered, eat on time, don't eat too much, take a walk after eating, and don't go to bed at once. This prevention-oriented medical proposition is still worth advocating today.

Sun Simiao's acupuncture technique is very clever. One patient said that his thigh was so painful that he couldn't keep back. Sun Simiao gave him medicine, but it didn't work, so he decided to give him acupuncture. However, after stabbing several acupoints in succession, the patient still complained of pain. Sun Simiao thought that there are 365 acupoints in the human body. Besides these acupoints, are there any other acupoints that have not been discovered? He decided to look for it carefully. He gently pressed the device on the patient with his hand and asked, Does it hurt here? He pinched many parts and the patient kept shaking his head. He continued to search patiently. When he pressed a part, the patient suddenly shouted: Oh, yes, that's it! Sun Simiao stuck a needle in the place where the patient said it hurt, and the patient soon stopped hurting.

There is no record in this acupoint medical book. Sun Simiao named this acupoint Ashi according to what the patient said. Because this acupoint has no fixed position, acupuncture is wherever it hurts. Later, people called the acupoints determined by pain points Ashi points.

Sun Simiao summarized his medical experience while treating patients. He collected widely the folk prescriptions, and identified and corrected them according to his years of experience. He also collects and processes herbs himself. After decades of hard work, a medical book named "A Thousand Dollars of Brilliance" was finally compiled in 652 AD. Thirty years later, Sun Simiao 100 years old, he wrote another book called "A Thousand Daughters of Fang Yi" based on the prescriptions collected in the past 30 years. These two books are excellent medical works that can be juxtaposed with Huangdi Neijing and Treatise on Febrile Diseases, and they are the earliest clinical practical encyclopedias in China. Later, in order to preserve these prescriptions, people carved important prescriptions on stone tablets, which were called Yao Bei.

Sun Simiao made many outstanding contributions to medicine all his life. He systematically collected more than 6,500 prescriptions, lived among the people for a long time, treated the people and devoted himself to research. He cured big neck disease, night blindness, beriberi and other intractable diseases at that time, and studied acupuncture, health preservation, dietotherapy and alchemy. Later generations all respected him and called him the King of Medicine.
