How to relax when practicing Tai Ji Chuan?
There is a proverb that says, "relax, tai chi kung fu, tai chi headlines should be relaxed;" To learn Tai Chi, learn to relax first, and it is rare to learn Tai Chi. "Fully explain that relaxation is the premise and foundation of practicing Tai Ji Chuan, and it is also the inevitable trend and the highest requirement of practicing Tai Ji Chuan. This is a difficult point in Tai Ji Chuan's practice, and it is also an important aspect to measure the basic skills of Artest, Tai Ji Chuan and Fan Chuan. However, from the current situation, many exercisers have not clearly realized this and have not done enough. Some of them are stiff and red-faced. Some are nervous and stiff; Some people only know how to practice boxing, but they don't know what relaxation is and why to relax. Therefore, it is very necessary to study and discuss this problem for Tai Ji Chuan's training. Now, let's talk about my personal opinion, and please correct me.

First, the meaning and function of relaxation

Relaxation means that you feel relaxed and happy during exercise, without any tension and pressure; All joints, organs, muscles and ligaments of limbs are relaxed and stretched. Pay special attention to the relaxation of shoulders, waist, hips and legs, and try to make people stand up with the natural support of bone cheese without any stiffness. The movements are light and soft, calm and comfortable, implicit and symmetrical, smooth and smooth; There is no hurry, no delay, no stagnation, but it cannot be weak or casual. Relaxation is Tai Ji Chuan's unique means and method of exercise, aiming at both rigidity and softness.

The role of relaxation can be summarized as follows:

1. helps to eliminate fatigue, especially the brain can be purified and adjusted, and the thinking is clear. At the same time, the limbs are generally stimulated by benign functions, the functions of various systems and organs are coordinated, the psychological state and physiological state are balanced, and the immunity is greatly enhanced.

2. Conducive to the smooth flow of qi, blood and meridians, to relax muscles and promote blood circulation, promote metabolism, and avoid side effects such as shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat and even blood sugar stagnation.

3. It is conducive to the lightness and coordination of action transformation, otherwise it will appear stiff and clumsy.

4. It is convenient for the internal qi to sink, and the upper part is empty and the lower part is solid. It is not only conducive to the stability of the body, but also conducive to the solid development of the Force. So it can also be said that if you don't relax, your strength will not be strong.

5. Conducive to the pursuit of softness. Only soft can be strong; Without softness, there is no rigidity. At the same time, we can also take the process of practicing boxing as a process of tasting the profound connotation of Tai Ji Chuan, so as to deepen our understanding of the principles and techniques of boxing.

Second, how can we relax?

First, be quiet. Peace of mind can relax the body, and relaxation is also conducive to peace of mind. The two are the root of each other and complement each other, which is a dialectical relationship. If you talk while practicing boxing, your movements will be disordered, and your body will be difficult to relax, which will not achieve the purpose of keeping in good health and is not conducive to practicing martial arts. So before practicing boxing, you must make all preparations. From the beginning of preparation, we should abandon all distractions, forget about things and me, concentrate all our thoughts on the routines we practice, and be calm, calm, focused and practice quietly.

Second, we should use consciousness to guide our actions, which is Tai Ji Chuan's operating rule. "On Boxing" said: "The spirit of the monarch comes from the flesh and blood of the minister" and "the meaning is not hard." It means unified procedure. The predecessors said: "unintentional, metaphysical, that is, gymnastics." Therefore, all actions in boxing should be guided by ideas, guided by intentions, and transported by qi, so that the muscles, bones, skin, flesh, tendons and ligaments of the whole body can be completely relaxed and stretched.

Third, we should conform to yin and yang, conform to the laws of nature, and reconcile yin and yang. All actions should be "natural and automatic" by instinct, not deliberate affectation. Both dynamic and static, the combination of reality and reality, the mutual use of straightness and straightness, the mutual pregnancy of storage and development, and the combination of rigidity and softness. Every movement should be within the framework of a rule, neither out of position nor out of line. To have a good proper limit, enough is enough, not at will, not out of order, and the movements should be ordinary, natural, relaxed, happy, mellow and harmonious.

Fourth, we should go into battle lightly. "Listen to it carefully, and move it by a hair's breadth". Bright and bright, slow and slow, start from the beginning. Really walk like a cat and move like a silk scroll. The body cannot be "hard". Landing is not "fluttering".

Fifthly, "striving for success slowly" is an important difference between Tai Ji Chuan and other kinds of boxing. This training must be carried out at a slow speed. There is no impatience, no pursuit of speed and fierceness. Not only can we not "win by speed", but we should also "slow down by speed". Only in this way can we relax physically and mentally, without nervous psychology and emotions. Only without stiff, weak and stubborn limbs can we keep moving forward like a willow in the spring breeze.

Sixth, exercise should be moderate, scientific, reasonable, safe and effective, and don't exercise with heavy load. If you exercise too much, your body will not feel relaxed, but will easily cause undue damage. We should do what we can and grasp the amount of exercise. Beginners should be easy first, then difficult, step by step, not greedy and eager for success. Old people and people with poor physique should not insist on difficult movements, let alone compete with young people. Only in this way can they benefit the body and mind and prolong life.
