Longping Township is located in the remnant vein of Wushan in the northeast of Jianshi County, with a land span of 1 10 09' east longitude and 30 48' north latitude. It is adjacent to Badong in the east, Gaoping in the south, Maotian in the west and Wushan County in Chongqing in the north, covering an area of 225 square kilometers, with high terrain in the west and low terrain in the east. The township has jurisdiction over 28 administrative villages and 1 community, 267 villagers' groups, 7,857 households and 307 15 people (data as of 20 1 1).
