"Keep a clear head"
Whenever I celebrate my birthday, I feel anxious. I always feel that I am one year older and my brain slows down accordingly.

The reason why we are so sensitive to brain reactions is that we often meet some people in our daily life. They are young, full of rules and regulations, and they are "old-fashioned" in talking and doing things, even walking steadily.

To deal with them, you have to break through the fortress of thinking, which will sacrifice a lot of brain cells, but it just reminds yourself that the brain is aging much faster than the body, and even it is not a big deal to break down decades earlier than the body. There used to be a popular saying on the Internet that "some people die at the age of 20 and are buried at the age of 80", which means this.

However, there are also several post-90 s old people around, full of energy and clear thinking. Every time I communicate with them, there are no communication barriers, so that I forget my age. They have the same characteristics-they attach importance to fitness and brain health since childhood, like to accept new things, and have been in a state of learning and growth.

One of the most awesome is a 97-year-old construction engineer, who was still "working" two years ago to help some grassroots units design construction drawings. Before the outbreak, he traveled abroad with his wife every year. After the epidemic came, he also fidgeted. He secretly went to Tibet behind his family's back and made many new friends along the way. He didn't care about his age for a long time, and lived a full life every day, either reading and writing his autobiography at home or going out to meet friends or see the scenery. ...

Perhaps for others, these old people are challenging the limits of their lives; But for themselves, this is a normal thing. This has been the case for decades, and they can't stop as long as their physical conditions permit.

They also reminded me from the other side of the mirror world that the aging speed of the brain and body does not necessarily accelerate with age, and there are still many possibilities for life.

I remember hearing Luo Zhenyu mention a few years ago that "the greatest function of education is to make life sensitive", and I feel the same way. I have never given up self-education since I graduated from college and joined the work. Reading and studying every day is like a routine, to prevent my brain from becoming numb and dull because of hunger.

In the process of long-term study and thinking, I really feel more and more sensitive to the things around me. Not only do we often find problems that others are easy to ignore in our work and life, but our awareness of safeguarding rights (the awareness of safeguarding brain sovereignty) is further enhanced, and we are more aware of our bottom line and boundaries to avoid being brought into the ditch by people with ulterior motives.

After all, logic and speculation are not the strengths of ordinary people. Human reason seems powerful, but it is never reliable. As long as the environment is right and there is enough time, being brainwashed will not be more difficult than formatting computer disks.

As far as my personal experience is concerned, the biggest benefit of learning and growth is not promotion and wealth or so-called self-realization, but "life-saving", that is, meeting the lower-level needs of Maslow curve (physiological and security needs).

Once you stop learning and thinking, you lose the opportunity to grow and progress, which is actually not a particularly serious consequence. It is really fatal to continue to take detours in health. Otherwise, how can so many people be superstitious about some health products with magical effects, even if their health is getting worse?

In his column, Mr. Wu Jun specifically talked about that some parents of foreign students are keen to buy high-priced health products at home, but they can't stop their parents from spending money when they are far away from home. According to his understanding, Mr. Wu Jun said that the marketing level of people engaged in the promotion of health care products is not generally high, which is much higher than that of many salespeople in the Fortune 500. Experienced such a professional marketing team, not to mention ordinary people, even graduates of prestigious schools with years of education may not be able to cope.

Therefore, from the immediate interests, "defending the sovereignty of the brain" is by no means an empty slogan used to fight chicken blood, but is closely related to our life safety and quality of life. Instead of relying on the earth, we should rely on ourselves, or rather, on our own brains, not others' brains.

Dr. Yin Ye, CEO of Huada Group, also reminded us not to "think too much about things outside the body, think too little about life, and let redundant information flood the brain, thus losing independent thinking". He also called on us to "keep our brains as jade". I like this sentence very much and borrow it as the title of the article by the way.
