Dashan selenium-enriched village is a rare selenium-enriched geological area in China. In February, 2002, China University of Science and Technology found that the selenium content in Dashan soil was as high as 4.4 micrograms per kilogram, which was really rare. Selenium is an essential trace element for human body, which has a significant therapeutic effect on cancer, cardiovascular diseases and other diseases. Perhaps it is this that makes Dashan Village a well-known longevity village and skinny village, with more than 480 people in the village and 12% over 80 years old. Over the past 50 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, no case of cancer and endemic diseases has been found, which has led experts to exclaim that "selenium-enriched villages are medicines"!
