Ranwu Lake covers an area of 22 square kilometers and is 3850 meters above sea level. There are Gangri Gabu Snow Mountain in the southwest of the lake and Azagongla Glacier in the south.
Ranwu town
There is Boshula Mountain in the northeast, and the melting water of snow and ice around the snow-capped mountains constitutes the main recharge source of Ranwu Lake, which makes the lake pour westward, forming one of the upstream sources of Palong Zangbo, an important tributary of Yarlung Zangbo River, a famous river in Tibet. Lake Ranwu is a large meadow with lush green grass, surrounded by blue water and snow-capped peaks, which is picturesque. The long and narrow CuO Lake in A Mu winds to the west for more than ten kilometers and gradually shrinks into a river valley. With the different seasons, the river also presents several colors such as blue or turquoise. There are many rocks and islands in the river, trees swaying on the lake in spring, and fog in autumn and winter. The beautiful scenery of the four seasons will make people feel like they are in a dream.
Ranwu Lake, the largest lake in eastern Tibet, is located on the 3 18 side of National Highway, 89 kilometers southwest of Basu County. It is the main source of Palong Zangbo, a tributary of Yarlung Zangbo River, and the birthplace of Palong Grand Canyon.
Ranwu Lake
The surface of Ranwu Lake is 3807 meters above sea level, with a total area of 27 square kilometers. The lake is 25 kilometers long and 1-2 kilometers wide. The lake is long and narrow, with a beaded distribution. Ranwu Lake Scenic Area is divided into three scenic spots, the upper, middle and lower reaches, and consists of three cascade lakes, namely Yangcuo Lake, Bangcuo Lake and Leng 'an Jiabu Lake. Although the three lakes come down in one continuous line, each has its own merits. Ranwu Lake area is a huge glacier canyon formed by glaciation in different periods. More than 200 years ago, a big collapse (mountain collapse) occurred in the lower reaches of today's Ranwu Lake. The huge rockfill dam blocked Palong Zangbo and formed a huge plateau dammed lake, which is today's Ranwu Lake. Whenever the ice and snow melt, snow water will be injected into the lake, so that Ranwu Lake always maintains abundant water sources. Ranwu Lake is surrounded by green pastures and green farmland; On the hillside near the lake, there is a vast forest, followed by colorful azaleas and shrub belts; The top of the mountain is a mountain with snow all year round, overlapping and undulating. It is beautiful and has the reputation of "Western Yaochi". Ranwu village next to Ranwu Lake reflects the sacred lake and the towering snow-capped mountains, showing a peaceful state. [ 1]
Ranwudong
Ranwu Cave is 5 kilometers away from Ranwu Lake and is hidden in the shade of the waist of Nangazuo Mountain next to National Highway 3 18.
. Nangazuo's Tibetan language means the place where immortals are concentrated in the world. It is said that the caves and mountains in Nanjiazuo Mountain existed here when Tibet was formed. The mountain is rugged, covered with prayer flags, and Mani stone can be seen everywhere. It's a famous local mountain. There is a Maitreya Buddha at the entrance of Ranwu Cave, as well as other stalactites, strange rocks and different trees of various shapes. Ranwu Cave is one of the few magical caves in Tibet.
