Basic principles of Ayurveda
Ayurvedic medicine is not only a medical system, but also represents a healthy lifestyle. Ayurveda consists of two words: Ayurveda means life, Veda means knowledge and science, so Ayurveda means the science of life. Ayurveda believes that human beings should live in harmony with nature, and diseases arise because this harmony has been broken. The main purpose of Ayurvedic medicine is to restore this basic balance by using nature and its products. This concept not only runs through the process of treating diseases, but also runs through the process of preventing diseases.

The diagnosis and treatment of Ayurvedic medicine tend to human characteristics rather than diseases. Before making a diagnosis, the patient's age, living environment, social and cultural background and physique are all aspects that need to be considered. The main means of diagnosis are touch, check and talk, and tonic with herbs. Their basic function is to stimulate the function of specialized organs. Therefore, the goal of Ayurvedic medicine is to solve health problems by adjusting diet without side effects.

In Ayurvedic medicine, life consists of body, feeling, spirit and soul. People have three kinds of body fluids (gas, bile and mucus), seven kinds of basic tissues (blood, protoplasm, muscle, fat, bone, bone marrow and semen) and wastes produced by the body. The development and aging of the human body and the circulation of various elements in the human body are all related to the food we eat.

Ayurvedic medicine believes that everything in the universe, including the human body, is composed of five basic elements: earth, water, fire, air and air (atmosphere). The growth and development of human body depends on the nutrients it obtains, such as food. Food is also composed of the above five basic elements, which supplement the corresponding elements in the body through the action of "biological fire" (fire). As an organic organism, human tissues are composed and transformed by these five basic elements.

Whether you are healthy or sick depends on whether the whole body system is balanced, including whether all parts of the body are balanced with each other. Both internal and external factors may upset the balance of nature and lead to diseases. Partial eclipse, bad habits and neglect of healthy living rules may all lead to imbalance. At the same time, abnormal seasons, incorrect exercise, improper use of sensory organs and adverse effects of body and mind will also disrupt the existing normal balance. Treatment usually includes adjusting diet, correcting bad habits and behaviors, drug treatment and preventive treatment to restore the balance between body and mind.

The basic treatment can be summarized as "solitude is the right way to keep healthy, and solitude is the best doctor to keep people away from diseases." This also summarizes the basic purpose of Ayurvedic medicine, that is, to maintain and promote health and prevent and treat diseases.

The treatment of diseases is mainly through detoxification therapy, drugs, reasonable diet, exercise and health preservation aimed at restoring and enhancing the mechanism and function of the body, so as to eliminate the factors that cause the imbalance of the body system and various components, restore balance and enhance physical fitness, and prevent or reduce the occurrence of future diseases.

In Ayurvedic medicine, regulating diet is an important treatment. This is because the human body is considered to be the product of food. Individuals' mental state and temperament are influenced by the food they eat. Food in the human body is first transformed into deer, and then into blood, muscle, fat, bone, bone marrow, reproductive elements and essence. Therefore, food is the basis of all metabolism and life activities. Lack of nutrition or ineffective food transformation can lead to various diseases.

The usual treatment measures include medication, special diet and proper exercise according to the doctor's advice. These three measures are implemented in two ways: first, according to the pathogenic factors and symptoms of the disease, these three measures are taken against the disease itself; The other is to take these three measures to eliminate the effects similar to the etiology and symptoms in the process of onset.

Ayurvedic medicine has made a very detailed analysis and description of all stages and states of diseases from pathogenic factors to final symptoms. This gives the medical system a great advantage in inferring diseases before latent symptoms appear. At the same time, it also strengthens its role in disease prevention, so as to take practical and effective treatment measures in advance, prevent the further development of the disease, or take reasonable measures to cure the disease at the early stage of the disease.
