What's the difference between myopia and hyperopia?
First of all, the reasons are different.

The common cause is short anterior and posterior axes of eyeball (called axial hyperopia), followed by weak refractive power of eye (called refractive hyperopia). Hyperopia can also be considered as hypoplasia of eyeball, which is generally hyperopia in childhood and then decreases with age.

Myopia is because the axial length of the eye is elongated and the light is focused in front of the retina.

Second, the difference between visual objects.

Hyperopia is because the eye axis is short and the light is focused on the back of the retina, so it is clear to see things in the distance and blurred to see things near. Hyperopia is prone to visual fatigue due to long-term adjustment tension.

Myopia is usually a long eye axis. Under the premise of static refraction, distant objects cannot converge in the retina, but form a focus in front of the retina, thus causing visual distortion and blurring of distant objects.

Third, correct the differences.

Hyperopia needs to increase the refractive power to see the distant target clearly, while seeing the near target clearly needs more adjustment. Hyperopia can be corrected by convex lens.

Myopia needs to increase refractive power to see the distant target clearly. Myopia is corrected by concave lens.
