How can I get started with Qigong?
? Qigong is guided by the meridians of traditional Chinese medicine and is introduced by regulating breath, body and mind.

To practice Qigong well, we must first understand the concepts of relieving qi and meridians, and define Qigong from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine: Qigong is an exercise method that makes people's qi coordinate through self-exercise of ideas. Qi is a common concept in China's philosophy, Taoism, Chinese medicine and China Qigong. Thinkers in China during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period abstracted the concept of qi, making it the basic element of all things in the world, with the characteristics of flowing like gas. It is believed that the life energy or power possessed by human beings and all living things is also called qi, and everything in the universe is the result of the change of qi operation. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that qi is the first line of defense of human body, which gathers in the body to protect viscera, but flows out on the skin surface to prevent the invasion of foreign pathogens from causing diseases.

Meridian system is a term of meridian science, and it is the only unique theory invented by China in world medicine. It plays a role in preventing and treating diseases by regulating the qi of meridians rather than relying on drugs. According to the meridian theory, the qi of human viscera can be perfused through meridians, and the corresponding parts can be found on the body surface. These parts are not isolated from the body surface, but communicate with the qi of internal organs. The exterior is mostly a depression between limbs, muscles or bones. Because the internal and external qi are functionally interlinked and mainly located in pores, it is called "acupoints". The network structure between acupoints is composed of meridians and their subsidiary parts, which is connected with the qi of internal organs and formed regularly and coherently.

Adjust your body; The natural relaxation of posture is the premise of qigong breathing smoothly and inducing mental relaxation. Different postures have different physiological characteristics, and postures themselves have certain therapeutic effects. Common postures are sitting flat, free cross legs, single cross legs, supine, lateral lying, standing, walking and so on.

Adjust the heart; Quiet refers to a stable and quiet state, without distractions, focusing on one point, that is, staying in the abdomen or paying attention to breathing, weakening the feeling of external stimuli, and entering a state of waking but not waking, that is, the cerebral cortex enters a state of protective inhibition. There are five common mute methods:

1. Obey the law.

2. Interest method.

3. Method of calculating interest.

Step 4 meditate.

5. Hearing method.

The above five methods can be practiced from observing the law, gradually transitioning to the interest following method or the interest listening method, or practicing one all the time, which varies from person to person.

Adjust interest rates; Breathing is an important part of qigong therapy. Through exercise, change chest breathing into abdominal breathing, change shallow breathing into deep breathing, and finally practice spontaneous abdominal breathing. There are eight common breathing methods:

Breathe naturally.

Breathe forward.

Breathe backwards.

Stop breathing.

Breathe through your nose.
