Dragon boat race is the main custom of China traditional festival Dragon Boat Festival, which is deeply loved by Dongguan people. John Wan was born and lived by water, with a coastline of nearly 90 kilometers. Thanks to the spirituality of water, it is known as "the hometown of dragon boats" and "the first scene of dragon boats in Dongguan". On June 8, 2023, in the river from Quhai Bridge to John Wan Bridge in John Wan, Dongguan, Guangdong Province, the first dragon boat race in Dongguan-John Wan Dragon Boat Race officially started, and the race time was 10:30- 13:00 on the same day.
