Mo Chi Primary School was founded on 1878. A large number of outstanding alumni have emerged from here, such as Li, an academician of China Academy of Sciences, Hu, a professor from Tsinghua University, and Chen Meihao, a famous doctor. Because of its unique cultural taste and outstanding achievements in running a school, the school has successively won the titles of National Foreign Language Experimental School, National Pilot Unit for Overall Reform Education in Primary and Secondary Schools, Zhejiang Calligraphy Education Experimental Base, and Wenzhou National Studies Enlightenment Education Base. On June 1 day, 2007, Mo Chi Primary School was named "Zhejiang Centennial Famous School".
