During Guangxu period, a great plague occurred in Gannan, Jiangxi Province, and the epidemic situation was serious. Just when the Qin imperial doctor was helpless, Zhang Qianshou, a quack in Ruijin, Jiangxi, controlled the epidemic and cured the patient with traditional Chinese medicine remedies, which made him famous in one fell swoop! This incident alarmed the emperor of the dynasty, and Emperor Guangxu hoped that he would open up the righteous light and give the plaque of "Thousand Hands Hall" to show his merits.
Later, due to the outbreak of war and social unrest, Mr. Zhang Qianshou drifted to Hong Kong. In the 9th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1883), the Hall of Thousand Hands was opened in Hong Kong. For more than 100 years, "Qianshoutang" has been famous for its traditional Chinese medicine health preservation, and has enjoyed the reputation of "continuing the Millennium and celebrating the Spring Festival" in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Southeast Asia and Japan.
