What is the difference between dry floor heating and wet floor heating?
In northern families, the air is very cold, and people will feel very cold indoors. Sitting indoors can feel this chill, which is a very painful thing. In order to keep themselves warm indoors, many people use floor heating. After the floor heating, they will not feel cold when sitting indoors. But you know what? Floor heating can be divided into many kinds, including dry or wet floor heating. So, what's the difference between dry floor heating and wet floor heating?

Brief introduction of wet floor heating;

Wet floor heating is the most mature installation technology of water heating floor heating at present, and its price is relatively low, which is the leading technology in the domestic floor heating market. The so-called wet type, first spread a layer of reflective film on the insulation board, then the steel wire mesh, and then the floor heating coil, which are fixed by cable ties and clips respectively. Because the floor heating coil is fixed on the insulation board, the insulation effect is better. Finally, the floor heating pipeline is embedded with concrete, and then the floor materials such as floor and tile are laid on the concrete layer. The backfill layer of floor heating mainly plays the role of heat storage and heat dissipation. The buried floor heating pipe radiates heat upward by heating the backfill layer, which reduces local overheating or supercooling.

Brief introduction of dry floor heating:

Dry floor heating can also be called thin floor heating, which is thinner because there is no backfill layer. In general, thin floor heating is mostly used to clean rooms with short space. There is a slot for the floor heating coil on the thin floor heating insulation board, and the floor heating coil is just stuck in the slot and does not need to be fixed with nails. After the floor heating coil is coiled, it is overlapped with the insulation board layer, and then a layer of aluminum foil paper is laid on the pavement layer to dissipate heat. The wooden floor can be laid directly on it. Because there is no backfill layer and the thickness of the floor, the floor has only increased by about 3 cm.

Advantages and disadvantages of wet floor heating;

Wet floor heating has uniform heat dissipation and strong thermal inertia. Even if the outdoor temperature suddenly gets cold or the water supply temperature changes, the indoor temperature does not change much. Because the wet floor heating has a backfill layer, the height of the floor will be increased by at least 8- 10 cm after the floor decoration materials are finished. If the room is short, it will be very depressing indoors. If the floor heating pipeline is damaged carelessly, it is very troublesome to maintain, which is more suitable for high-rise residential buildings, and the wet floor heating construction is also more complicated.

Advantages and disadvantages of dry floor heating:

Thin floor heating has the advantages of not occupying space height, rapid heating and easy maintenance. Every coin has its two sides. Thin floor heating has poor thermal inertia because there is no backfill layer (heat storage layer). If the outdoor temperature or water supply temperature changes, the indoor temperature changes obviously. If the design is unreasonable, uneven heat dissipation is easy to occur.

Comparison between dry floor heating and wet floor heating;

1, from the point of floor height, the dry floor heating is installed in the insulation module, and the ground material is directly laid on the floor heating pipe, which only needs to occupy a floor height of about 4cm; However, wet floor heating requires laying floor heating pipes on the cement floor first, then pouring concrete for leveling, and then laying floor materials, generally occupying 7-8cm of the ground height.

2. According to the heating time, dry floor heating has a fast heating effect, and the general heating time is about 30 minutes, which is equivalent to radiator heating; Wet floor heating has slow thermal effect and long heating time, and the initial heating takes 4-6 hours.

3. From the point of installation difficulty, dry floor heating is convenient to construct and can be installed before laying the floor; The construction of wet floor heating is complicated, and it is usually installed in the early stage of decoration.

4. From the perspective of project cost, the cost of dry floor heating is equivalent to that of imported radiator, which is about 25% higher than that of wet floor heating.

5. In terms of market share, the market share of wet floor heating is over 90%, and the application of dry floor heating is less in China, accounting for only 10% of the floor heating share.

Difference between dry floor heating and wet floor heating

1. Time limit for a project: wet paving will be completed in two days, plus condensation curing period of more than three days; Dry paving construction can be completed on the same day.

2. Wet paving includes the thickness of concrete and wooden floor of about 5 cm; Dry paving is hidden in the floor format and does not affect the indoor height space.

3. Insulation board is different. Wetlands are warmer and more comfortable. Concrete can not only protect and fix water heating pipes, but also transfer heat evenly, creating an ideal indoor thermal microclimate and making the indoor environment reach the most comfortable state of human senses, especially for the elderly and children.

4. Dry floor heating is expensive to install and cannot be installed under floor materials such as floor tiles and marble. Because these materials must be fixed with cement when laying, dry floor heating can't be used in bathrooms and kitchens, but wet floor heating can.

How to install dry floor heating?

1. Plan the pipeline laying direction, and determine the distribution of inlet and return pipe of the whole floor heating area, the water inlet of each area and the final return pipe direction according to the floor heating pipeline laying diagram. Finally, the direction of return pipe is concentrated near the water separator as far as possible, and the floor heating area of each region is basically balanced, so as to clean up the floor garbage;

2. Laying the floor heating module, in which the sill module is directly embedded and tiled along the sill direction, connecting the aluminum plate above the sill along the leveling tower, intercepting the elbow plate in a small area at the elbows on both sides of the pipeline with a paper cutter, and scribing and sawing notches on the sill where the pipeline passes; The ground non-stare blankly module is directly laid on a flat cement surface, elbow plates are embedded on both sides of the pipeline elbow, and the elbow plate pipe groove is butted with the module pipe groove;

3. Trim the seams and side seams of modules, and paste the seams between all modules with aluminum foil tape. If the side seam of the wall cable pipe is smooth, fill it with semi-dry mixed mud and sand to make it smooth.

4. Pay-off and bury the pipe: first fix the water inlet end of the water separator, pay-off and bury it in the floor heating pipe according to the direction of the pipe groove, and the surface does not need any fixing and covering. Elbows of pipelines on both sides are directly fixed on the lining plate with reflective film by floor heating pipe clamps, and the elbows should be kept at an appropriate bending radius. The floor heating pipes should not be bent, otherwise it will lead to poor running water or even water blockage. In order to keep the expansion space of floor heating, the elbows should not be covered.

5. Water injection and pressure test, and install the floor. After the loop pipes in each area are installed and fixed, the coils in the warm area are flushed with water in turn, and then the pressure test is carried out as usual. After the pressure test is completed, the floor can be installed.

What is the difference between dry floor heating and wet floor heating? Whether it is dry floor heating or wetland heating, it is floor heating, which can warm the ground. If you want your ground to be warm enough in winter, I suggest you install floor heating. Floor heating can be divided into many types and brands. When installing floor heating, consumers can choose brands according to the situation of individual families and try to choose well-known big brands.
