Su Zhe's Poem of Chasing Tao Yuanming

Mr. Dongpo lived in exile, crossing the sea alone with his youngest son under the eaves of his family, trimming bamboo. The sunshine is full of potatoes and taro, but I have no idea of luxury food in my chest. I have no hobbies in my life. I take history as my garden and articles as my propaganda. So far, I have stopped. I am happy to write a poem, profound and beautiful, without seeing the fatigue of the old man.

At this time, Zhe also moved to Haikang, and the book came to tell him: "All ancient poets imitated the ancients, but they did not imitate them." Tracing the past began in Dongpo. I'm just a poet. I'm only good at profound poetry. Yuan Ming wrote few poems, but his poems are qualitative and realistic. Because Cao, Liu, Bao, Xie, Li and Du are far behind. I wrote hundreds of poems before and after, proud of it, and ashamed of it. I collected it today and recorded it in order to keep this gentleman. Zi is my ambition. However, I know Yu Yuan very well. How can I learn his poems well? If he is a man, he really has feelings. When Yuan Ming died, he told Yan Yan and others. :' I am small and poor. Every time I abuse my family, I wander from east to west. Sex is just clumsy, there are too many things. If you measure yourself, you will be troubled by vulgarity, and your death will make you hungry and cold. "Yuan Ming this language, record also. I really have this disease, and I didn't know it earlier. I have been an official all my life, so I am convinced that I will be a teacher at night. "

Hey, honey! Yuan Ming refused to see the children in the village for five buckets of rice and a belt, but Zi Zhan was an official for more than 30 years and was trapped by prison officials, so he was in great trouble. He wanted to trust Yu Yuanming with Sang Yu's last scene. Who would believe him? Although Zi Zhan is an official, his background is advanced and backward, which can be tested. After a gentleman, there must be a place. Confucius said, "Words without deeds, old faith, stealing is not as good as my old Peng." Mencius said, "Ceng Zi and Zi Si are of one mind." A little trace, cover is not enough to talk about scholars.

There are few tricks to learn without a teacher, and children look forward to learning. First of all, you can learn from the teacher. Zi Zhan's taste of quotations poems has the style of the ancients, thinking that it is not right. However, since he claimed to be Dongpo, his knowledge has improved day by day and he is as rich as Sichuan. He wrote more poems than Li Taibai and Du Zimei, so he compared them with Yuan Ming. Although the frog follows it suddenly, it often follows. The sum is deep, followed by one or two.

Mr. Dongpo was relegated to Hainan, and his home was at the foot of Luofu Mountain. He only took his youngest son across the ocean and built a bamboo house to live in. I eat sweet potatoes and taro every day. I don't want to live in a house in China and enjoy jade food. He has no hobbies in life, but regards reading history as a garden and writing articles as a musical instrument. At this time, he has given up, but he just likes to write poems. The content is exquisite and profound, and the form is gorgeous. You can't see the aging and fatigue of the old man.

At this time, I was also demoted to Haikang. Zi Zhan wrote to tell me: "Ancient poets imitated ancient poems, but did not imitate them. Chasing the ancients starts with me. I have no special interest in poets, so I have to write Tao Yuanming's poems. There are not many poems written by Yuan Ming, but his poems seem simple but gorgeous, slim but full, and they are not as good as him since Cao Zhi, Liu Kun, Bao Zhao, Xie Lingyun, Li Bai and Du Fu. I chased dozens of his poems back and forth and proudly wrote them, thinking that they were not much worse than Tao Yuanming. Now I'm going to collect these poems, catalog them into books and give them to later gentlemen. You write it down for me

But do I only love Tao Yuanming's poems? I really have some feelings for him. Before he died, Tao Yuanming said to his son Yan Tao and others, "I have been poor since childhood, and I have been running around because of my poor family. I am straightforward and smart, and I have many conflicts with my surroundings. Think for yourself, and you will surely leave worldly evils. I worked hard all my life and now I'm dead, leaving you hungry and cold when you were young. "I'm afraid these words are true records. I really have this problem now, but I didn't find it earlier. Being an official for half a life has offended everyone. This is why I deeply admire Yuan Ming and want to know something about Tao Yuanming's behavior in his later years. "

Alas, Yuanming refused to dress Wudoumi and visit the children in the village. However, Zi Zhan has been an official for more than 30 years, and he has been humiliated by prison officials, but he still does not think about repentance and gets into this big trouble. Who can believe that he will send his spirit to Yuanmingyuan in his later years? Even so, Zi Zhan is an official, and his advance and retreat can still be investigated. The gentleman of later generations can judge him correctly. Confucius said: "I don't write ancient books casually. I believe in and love ancient culture. I compare myself with Lao Peng privately." Mencius said, "Ceng Zi and Zisi went the same way." Small tracks are not enough to talk about scholars.

When I was a child, I didn't have a teacher. When I was an adult, I learned something. My late father asked me to learn from him. Zi Zhan once said that my poems have the style of the ancients, and he thinks he is not as good as me. However, since he was relegated to Dongpo, his knowledge has been improved day by day, and his appearance is like a river. His poems are better than those of Li Bai and Du Fu and can be compared with those of Tao Yuanming. Although I am scrambling to follow him, I often fall behind him. I can only catch up with one or two poems by him and Yuanming.

Extended reading: the way of anecdotes enlightens the mind.

Influenced by his brother Su Shi, Su Zhe believed in Taoism. In addition to this reason, Su Zhe's belief in Taoism is also related to two things he encountered. First, because Taoism cured his illness for many years, he had to be interested in Taoism. He went on to talk about his feelings of reading the Taoist scriptures "Bao Puzi", thinking that he might not find the immortal elixir, so he had to settle for the second best and take poria cocos.

Su Zhe recorded the second strange thing he encountered about Taoism in The Biography of Beggar Zhao Sheng: Zhao Sheng was a beggar, disheveled, and cursed when he was drunk. Later, Zhao Sheng took the initiative to see Su Zhe. After a few words, Su Zhe felt that this beggar "is not a skill, but also a knowledgeable person." Su Zhe introduced Zhao Sheng to Su Shi. Zhao lived with Su Shi for half a year, then returned to the north with Su Shi and was left in Xingguo. Soon, he was injured by a mule and died. He was painted and buried in a coffin. In the first year of Yuan skirt, Fa Zheng, a monk from Shu, visited and told Su Zhe that when he passed Yun 'an, a beggar claimed to be Zhao and met Su Zhe. Please say hello to him. After Fazhen described the beggar, Su Zhe confirmed that it was Zhao Sheng. At that time, the son of Zhu Yanbo, a local official in Xingguo, was present. "Tell his father to bury him, leaving only a stick and two calves." On this basis, Su Zhe judged that Zhao Sheng was a deep immortal, but it was still lacking.

It should be said that these two events have a great influence on Su Zhe. The first thing made him believe in Taoist health preservation, and the second thing made him believe in Taoist immortal theory. Su Zhe's belief in Taoism basically carried out his life. He often attributes people's health to Taoist health preservation. Li Junshou said in "Preface to the Yuhuatai": "Businessmen are upright and harmonious, and they seldom learn health from Taoist priests. Before the age of 50, they were addicted to prostitution, but they were old and not fascinated." This is to attribute the health of others to Taoism. In the "Birthday" written by Ding Hai at the age of 69, he said that he suffered from lung disease when he was young and spleen disease in middle age, but in his later years, "the two diseases were suddenly flat." Why? The poet thinks this is because he worships Laozi as a teacher, gets rid of all desires and understands the Tao. This is also attributed to Taoism.

In addition to believing in Taoism, Su Zhe also made an in-depth study of Taoist theory. At the age of 42, he wrote "Lao Zi Jie" to integrate various ideas into Taoism. After reading this book, his brother spoke highly of it. In Liang Wudi, Su Zhe first proposed that Buddhism was different from Laozi and attributed Buddhism to Taoism. Then he said: "The way of the old Buddha is not a private matter, it has its own heaven and earth, but it has its own way." This is equivalent to putting the Tao in the supreme position. Zhu was very angry at this view of the Su brothers. He believes that the Su brothers "used Laozi in line with my Confucianism, thinking that it was insufficient, and then released it and sealed it", which is "eternal" and "unscrupulous". The fundamental difference between Su Brothers and Zhu is that Su Brothers integrated Confucianism and Buddhism on the basis of Taoism, while Zhu integrated Taoism and Buddhism on the basis of Confucianism.

Su Zhe also wrote many Taoist poems in his life, such as Louguan, Hezizhan Reading Taoist Classics, Seeing Yang off as a monk, Hezizhan's Seven Wonders in Haozhou, Yufeng Ci, Qingqing Ci and so on.
