Cao Cao has just defeated Yuan Shao and is in urgent need of talents. I heard that Sima Yi was very talented, so I recruited him to be an official. When Sima Yi learned the news, he felt that Cao Cao was a eunuch and was unwilling to obey. But he dared not openly refuse Cao Cao, so he assumed that he was suffering from wind arthralgia and was inconvenient to live in. Cao Cao suspected that Sima Yi deliberately shirked and secretly sent someone to check it at night.
Sima Yi got the news in advance and stayed in bed all day and all night. Later that night, the man sneaked into Sima Yi's bedroom and found him lying flat on the bed. Still uneasy, the man drew his sword and waved it at Sima Yi. Seeing a sharp knife, Sima Yi just looked at the man with wide eyes and did not move. Only then did the man believe that Sima Yi really had rheumatism, so he took his sword and went back to report to Cao Cao.
When Cao Cao became prime minister, he was eager to recruit talents, so he remembered Sima Yi again and decided to recruit him again. He told the messenger that if Sima Yi didn't call again, he would be arrested. Sima Yi knew that although Cao Cao loved talents, he could not tolerate those who were arrogant and refused to attach themselves. Sima Yi was afraid of being killed, so she had to leave home to make a phone call.
2. Sima Yi conquered Mengda and outsmarted Mengda.
West Shu surrendered to Meng Da of Cao Wei, and launched a rebellion in the first year of Taihe (now Zhushan County, Hubei Province), abandoning Wei for Shu. Mengda thought that Wancheng was 1,200 miles away and the terrain was dangerous, so Sima Yi couldn't reach Shang Yong for a while. However, when Meng Da just started the uprising for eight days, Sima Yi rushed to Shang Yong and Enemy at the Gates with a great army.
Meng Da has been at odds with Wei Xingtai on the issue of retaining Shen Yi. Shen Yi got the wind of Mengda's contact with Xishu again, and immediately reported to Wei Mingdi. Wei Mingdi ordered Sima Yi to monitor Meng Da's actions. In order to make full preparations for the elimination of Mengda and postpone the uprising in Mengda as much as possible, Sima Yi not only prepared for military conquest, but also tried to paralyze and confuse Mengda, making it hesitant and delaying the uprising.
3. Sima Yi "plays the fool"
When Li Sheng saw Sima Yi, what he saw was Sima Yi, who was "crowned and paid separately, and went to bed and sat under the quilt". He was lying in bed, as if he were terminally ill, and he didn't even have the strength to carry a bowl of porridge. Li Sheng said to Sima Yi: "The son of heaven asked me to go to Jingzhou as a secretariat, and I came to say goodbye to the teacher." At this time, Sima Yi played a "homophonic game".
Panting, he said, "Bingzhou is near the north, so be prepared." Li Shengming said Jingzhou, but he just said Bing. It seems that the old man Sima's hearing has seriously declined. Li Sheng helped Sima Yi correct: "The teacher heard wrong. I am going to Jingzhou, not Bingzhou. " Sima Yi will be deaf: "Did you just come back from Bingzhou?"
Li Sheng said loudly in Sima Yi's ear, "I'm going to Jingzhou." Sima Yi finally woke up a little and said, "I am really old and deaf, and I can't hear clearly. It's great that you are the secretariat of Jingzhou. " After such a "tongue twister", Sima Yi ended with touching words to the effect that I was critically ill and my two sons were useless. I hope the general will be promoted more and more in the future.
Sima Yi tricked Li Sheng into playing around. However, the ultimate goal of Sima Yi's playing dumb is to interfere with Cao Shuang's political judgment through Li Sheng's impression of himself. After Li Sheng left, Sima Yi, who was "dying of illness", immediately rolled over and got out of bed, summoned her two sons urgently and said, "When Li Sheng arrives here, Cao Shuang will definitely not guard against me. Only when they go out hunting can we win it in one fell swoop. "
In the first month of the first year of Jiaping (249), Emperor Cao Fang, General Cao Shuang and other royal families went to Gaopingling to visit Wei Mingdi's grave. Sima Yi took the opportunity to launch a coup to kill Cao Shuang, forcing Cao Fang to take all the military and political power into his own hands-eventually forcing Wei to "abdicate" and replace it with "Sima".
4. Sima Yi outsmarted Shuai Xi
Sima yi is the long history of Cao Cao's prime minister's office. The so-called long history means the manager. The official position is not small, but the manager belongs to the staff and has no real power. He had profound military strategy and gradually became an important aide of Cao Wei regime. Later, the three countries proclaimed themselves emperors respectively. After Cao Pi and Cao Rui proclaimed themselves emperor in succession, his position became more and more important, but he was still in an auxiliary position, and the real power was still in the hands of the imperial clan of Cao Shi.
This situation makes it difficult for him to achieve much. Every war, the credit is his, but the biggest beneficiary is Cao Shi's relatives, and he is deeply saddened by this situation. After Liu Bei's death, Zhuge Liang was in charge of Shu, went out of Qishan repeatedly and invaded the Central Plains. Wei Mingdi's general is Cao Zhen, and Sima Yi is only his deputy. In fact, Sima Yi has become Zhuge Liang's main rival at this time.
Zhuge Liang went out of Qishan first, occupied Tianshan counties, subdued Jiang Wei, and won a great victory. Later, because Ma Su lost an important strategic street pavilion, he was forced to return to Sichuan. A few years later, after recuperation, Zhuge Liang led his troops to reunite and leave Qishan, and then cut the Central Plains. All the way forward, the army was on a roll and contacted Wu Dong to attack Cao Wei. At this critical moment, General Cao Zhen was seriously ill.
I had to go back to Luoyang for illness, and the army had no owner. Seeing that the situation in Cao Wei was getting worse, Wei Mingdi was a little carried away for a while. At this time, Sima Yi took the initiative to analyze the situation to Wei Mingdi. He thinks that the alliance between Shu Han and Wu Dong is external and spiritual. Wu Dong crossed the river in Lv Meng's white suit to capture Jingzhou and defeated the Shu army in the battle of Yiling, and forged a deep hatred with Shu Han, so it was impossible to help Shu Han sincerely.
Therefore, there are not enough soldiers and horses all the way. What worries us is that Zhuge Liang's army is in Longxi. Now there is no owner in the army, so we have to send capable generals to the main army. The supply of grain and grass in the Shu army is not good, and we will certainly turn defeat into victory. Cao Rui saw that Sima Yi's analysis was clear. In view of Cao Zhen's illness, he appointed Sima Yi as commander-in-chief, commanding all the troops in west Gansu to resist the attack of Shu Han. He also ordered people to go to Cao Zhen immediately to get the ShuaiXi and give it to Sima Yi.
Sima Yi said, "I can get the handsome seal myself." He first came to Cao Zhen Palace to check his illness, and then told the former military intelligence. Cao Zhen's family were afraid to tell the truth because he was ill. Now I can't help but feel deeply worried when I hear that the military situation is so urgent. He said, "Now the country is in such a crisis, why didn't the emperor worship you as the commander-in-chief to retreat the Shu soldiers?" Sima yi obviously has been blocked, but pretends not to know.
At this time, I still refused to say, "I am too ignorant to bear this heavy responsibility." Cao Zhen left, busy call a person to call Shuaiyi Shuaiyi. Sima Yi still kept shirking: "Shuai Yin still asked the general to take command, and I, as always, tried my best to assist." Cao Zhen said quickly, "I can't be a director if you don't accept the handsome seal. Now this country is in danger. How can the army be without a commander-in-chief? When I am well, I will recommend you to the emperor. "
At this time, Sima Yi told the truth: "The emperor has promised, but I dare not accept it." Hearing this, Cao Zhen said happily, "With your command, the Shu soldiers can retreat." Therefore, Sima Yi refused for a pretence, thanked him again and again, and accepted the handsome seal. Since the emperor has a life, why did Sima Yi put on airs? It seems unnecessary to get a handsome seal. In fact, this is his genius.
After careful analysis, he knew that Ming Di ordered his decision to be made in an emergency. Once the Shu army is defeated, Shuaiyin will return to Cao Zhen. Besides, Cao Zhen is ill, being taken away from the position will make him unhappy, and even make him suspect that Sima Yi is responsible. Now Sima Yi has gone to fetch Shuaiyin himself and bowed again and again, which can not only dispel Cao Zhen's doubts, but also protect Shuaiyin for a long time.
5. The same is true of Sanma.
When Sima Yi was Cao Cao's counselor, Cao Cao was extremely worried about him. One day, Cao Cao had a dream that three horses were eating in the same trough. When he woke up, he was very unhappy. At first, Cao Cao thought it was Ma Chao's family and killed Ma Chao's father. Sima Yi and his son happen to be homonyms of "Cao" and "the same trough", which means that Sima Shi wants to eat Cao Shi.
Cao Cao felt that this was an ominous sign, so he called Prince Cao Pi and said to him, "Sima Yi is not a person who wants to be a minister and will definitely interfere in our internal affairs in the future." But Cao Pi later trusted Sima Yi very much and didn't take his father's words to heart. Later, as Cao Cao expected, Sima's father and son joined Cao Wei's affairs successively.
