Whether it's a former alliance or a good marriage, it's an ending, it's an ending. No matter which version, Baochai's love has no happy ending. Baochai is married. In Liu's Dream of Red Mansions, Baoyu married Baochai first, and Baochai died in the end. He married Shi Xiangyun, who died of poverty and illness.
