Zhang Ji, named Zhongjing, was born in Nieyang, Nanyang (now Nanyang, Henan), aged 69 (A.D. 150-2 19), and was an outstanding physician at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. He laid the foundation of TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment, and was called "medical sage". Therefore, it is generally believed that Zhongjing is good at medical prescriptions and treating diseases. Actually, it's not. Zhongjing once said for the purpose of studying his medical skills: "The top is to cure the diseases of your relatives, the bottom is to save the poor, and the middle is to protect your life." In other words, the purpose of studying medical skills is to treat others, maintain his own life and keep his body healthy forever. Therefore, Zhongjing also has a lot of research on health preservation and disease prevention. In addition to writing some health-preserving expositions, Zhongjing pays great attention to his own health-preserving in daily life. For example, after getting up every morning and before going to bed at night, he should do guided breathing. After every meal, you must rinse your mouth and massage your abdomen.

(1) Nourish healthy qi and be careful of external evils.

Zhong Jing believes that the five elements (namely, gold, wood, earth, water and fire) are distributed in nature to transport everything. The human body follows the normal laws of the five elements, so it has the physiological functions of the five internal organs. Not only that, people must rely on the material provided by nature to survive. Therefore, there is an inseparable relationship between man and the natural environment. The relationship between man and nature is like "water can carry a boat, but it can also overturn it", which has both advantages and disadvantages. For example, abnormal climate can harm human body. So, how can we keep the five internal organs unobstructed and achieve the goal of health and longevity? Zhong Jing believes that first of all, we should be good at "nurturing caution". Only by knowing and mastering the methods of "nurturing caution" can we resist all pathogenic factors, strengthen our physique and prolong our life. Zhongjing's so-called "nurturing caution" aims at "nurturing healthy qi internally and preventing evil spirits externally."

(2) Save your strength and look forward to Xiu De.

It means that the staple food in the diet is whole grains, and the thickness is matched; The taste of dishes in non-staple food should be suitable for cooking taste; The diet used should be combined with the climatic characteristics of the four seasons, and the dietary raw materials should be fresh.
