Is there any harm in maintaining moisture on the surface when curing concrete?
1. In the process of curing, it is harmless to keep moisture on the concrete surface. The purpose of curing is to reduce the evaporation and loss of water in concrete. Meet the hydration requirements of cement. In addition, the concrete itself will solidify in water, reaching the final solidification.

2, the necessity of maintenance:

Concrete can gradually set and harden after being cast, mainly due to the hydration of cement, which requires suitable temperature and humidity conditions. Therefore, in order to ensure that concrete has suitable hardening conditions and its strength continues to grow, concrete must be cured.

3, general maintenance methods are divided into:

1) For the concrete cured by formwork, measures such as wrapping with formwork, watering and spraying water should be taken for moisture preservation and wet curing to ensure that the formwork joints are not dehydrated and dried.

2) Spray curing liquid is suitable for special-shaped or large-area concrete structures that are not easy to spray curing.

4. Maintenance requirements:

1), moisture curing should be carried out in time after concrete pouring, and factors such as site conditions, environmental temperature and humidity, component characteristics, technical requirements and construction operation should be considered when choosing curing methods.

2) In addition, the curing time of concrete shall meet the following requirements:

(1) Concrete made of portland cement, ordinary portland cement or slag portland cement shall not be less than 7d; When other types of cement are used, the curing time should be determined according to the cement performance;

(2) The concrete prepared with retarded admixture and large mineral admixture shall not be less than14d; ;

(3) Impervious concrete and concrete with strength grade of C60 and above shall not be less than14d; ;

(4) The curing time of concrete in post-cast strip should not be less than14d; ;

(5) The curing time of the basement bottom wall and column and the wall and column of the upper structure of the first floor should be appropriately increased.

5. Maintenance precautions:

1), sprinkler maintenance should be carried out after the exposed surface of concrete is covered with sacks or straw curtains, or directly sprayed with water to store water;

2), sprinkler maintenance should ensure that the concrete is in a wet state;

3), sprinkler maintenance water should comply with relevant regulations;

4), when the minimum temperature is lower than 5℃, sprinkler maintenance should not be adopted.

6. In addition, in engineering practice, in areas with abundant water resources, there are various maintenance methods such as watering and wetting. In summer and hot weather, most curing methods are covered with plastic film to keep moisture.
