Lugu Lake spans Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, each of which occupies a part, and is under the jurisdiction of Yanyuan County of Hayes and ninglang county City of Yunnan. Or from Lijiang, Yunnan, or from Xichang, Sichuan, all the way is bumpy and difficult.
September 20 19, when I decided to visit Lugu Lake three times, I chose the self-driving route of Chengdu-Xichang-Yanyuan-Lugu Lake. This line is 700 kilometers long, including 440 kilometers from Chengdu to Xichang, which is an expressway. However, 260 kilometers from Xichang to Lugu Lake is a rugged road full of dangers.
National Highway G348, formerly provincial highway S307, is the only passage from Xichang to Lugu Lake. On the way, we must pass through the plateau town of Yanyuan, which is 0/35km away from Xichang/KLOC-and 0/25km away from Lugu Lake/KLOC-. The whole road meanders on the southeast edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with many mountains, bends, heavy mountains and complicated water, making it difficult to walk. Among them, Xichang to Yanyuan135km, with two mountains across it. One is Mopan Mountain, with an altitude of1700m. One is a hill, more than 3200 meters above sea level. You have to cross the Yalong River and the Dajin River. Yanyuan to Lugu Lake125km, all in the hinterland of Daliangshan. The mountain is high and the road is dangerous, winding and narrow, and danger can be seen everywhere.
When I decided to take this road to Lugu Lake, I looked up some information carefully. It is generally reflected that this line has high mountains, narrow roads, many bends, many falling rocks and poor road conditions. When you drive down this road, you will know that it is not a fake shop. From Xichang to Lugu Lake, it took nearly 7 hours to travel 260 kilometers, and there was no traffic jam.
Leave Xichang and walk along the national highway G348 for about 40 kilometers, and you will reach the foot of the famous Mopan Mountain. Fortunately, a 3430-meter-long highway tunnel passes through the mountain, and the Mopanshan highway with an altitude of 1700 meters is shortened at once. Mopan Mountain, which used to take two or three hours to climb, now takes only ten minutes. 20 1 1 The completed Mopanshan Highway Tunnel has refreshed the history of highway construction in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture and shortened the distance from Xichang to Yanyuan by one third.
In addition to Mopan Mountain, there is another mountain between Xichang and Yanyuan County, called Xiao Gaoshan. Xiao Gaoshan's name is small, but it is not small. The mountain pass is 3 188 meters above sea level, and the top of the mountain is more than 3,800 meters above sea level, undulating for hundreds of kilometers. Since ancient times, it has been an important gateway and traffic artery in and out of Yanyuan County. At the northern foot of the hill, there is a section of Panshan Highway which is tens of kilometers long. The slope is steep, like walking a dragon and snake. Some people call it "nine bends". In fact, it is far more than nine bends. Just take a lucky number or the maximum number. "Jiuqu" has a steep slope and frequent traffic accidents. Some people call it "sad bend"
When I finally climbed the 3288-meter-high mountain pass and entered the southern foothills, I suddenly felt that the world was suddenly enlightened, and Yanyuan County was clearly visible. At first glance, it seems very close, but in fact there are still dozens of kilometers. Starting from the pass, the G348 National Road is almost a dive and takes a sharp turn. Turning the last S-bend, a straight avenue several kilometers long suddenly appeared. Seemingly flat, in fact, the slope is still the same, until the edge of the county, it slowed down.
I can't find the name of the slope at the southern foot of this hill on the map. I accidentally saw a sign on the side of the road that said "gentle slope road class", maybe it was called "gentle slope". As the name implies, there are slopes in slowness, risks in slopes, risks in roads, and roads in slopes, which is somewhat appropriate. There is a folk song in Xichang: "hill, hill, drivers are scared here;" Winter is ice and snow, autumn and summer are rainy; Curved and steep slopes are dangerous everywhere, and the roads are narrow and slippery. Climbing a hill is like crossing the gate of hell. "It is a true portrayal of the road conditions in the small mountain village.
Thankfully, Xiaoshan Highway Tunnel is currently being excavated, and it is said that it will be completed and opened to traffic in 2022. It is also said that a expressway will be built from Xichang to Lugu Lake. By then, crossing a small hill will be as fast as crossing Mopan Mountain, and it will be more convenient to go to Lugu Lake.
Beyond the hill is the salt source of the plateau town. From the navigation point of view, Yanyuan County is 40 kilometers away from Lugu Lake Rige Peninsula/KLOC-0. A wide Lugu Lake Avenue came face to face, thinking it was the way to Lugu Lake. But a few kilometers later, I drove into the winding and narrow S307 provincial road, only to know that it was a county road.
After crossing the salt source, continue along the S307 provincial road. From then on, Lugu Lake climbed mountains, crossed bridges and made holes, and shuttled through the hinterland of Daliangshan. Sometimes it is sparsely populated, sometimes it is a Yi village, sometimes it is a township street, and sometimes it is accompanied by the Jinsha River. Along the way, although the roads are not as undulating as hills, the overall road conditions are not as good as G348 National Road. Narrowness, bending, potholes, falling rocks, landslides, mudslides, etc. Happens from time to time. It's just that there are obviously few vehicles. Except for occasional tourist buses and private cars, there are few big trucks passing by. Although there are speed limit signs all the way, there are not many illegal photos. When the road conditions are a little better, you can speed up your running. Even so, it was already evening when we arrived at Luoshui Village Inn in Lugu Lake. It's been 10 hours since I set out from Chengdu in the morning.
