What does Dai medicine portend?
Traditional therapy of Dai medicine has a history of more than 2000 years. Through long-term observation, exploration and summary, the Dai people have accumulated a lot of experience in treating diseases, most of which are scattered in various Dai medical books and passed down from generation to generation in the form of oral and oral transmission. Guided by the theory of "four towers" and "five aggregates" of Dai medicine, internal diseases are treated externally, exogenous diseases are treated externally, upper diseases are treated lower, upper diseases are treated lower, both internal and external diseases are treated, and upper and lower diseases are treated simultaneously, which has been used up to now and has a unique curative effect. We collect and summarize them into ten traditional therapies, which are briefly introduced as follows:

Dai medicine is one of the four national medicines in China. According to records, its history has been more than 2500 years. Dai's medical theory, methods of diagnosis and treatment of diseases, prescriptions and drugs all have unique national and regional characteristics. The theory of four towers and five aggregates, called "tower block essence" and "ramming tower block ha" in Dai language, is a written medical theory of Dai people. Four pagodas refer to Wayota (wind), Diezhuo Pagoda (fire), Abota Pagoda (water) and Batawita Pagoda (earth). Dai people believe that four special substances, wind, fire, water and earth, are the constituent elements of everything in the world and the material vitality of human life. Without wind, everything cannot grow; Without fire, everything will not mature; Without water, everything dries up; Without soil, nothing can survive. At the same time, it is believed that wind, fire, water and soil in human body have their own functions. Under the guidance of this theory, Dai medicine has formed four kinds of prescriptions: the prescription for treating wind-induced diseases is called "Wa Yue He Ya Ta"; The prescription used to treat diseases caused by fire is called "Diezhuo Tooth"; The prescription for treating diseases caused by water is called "Apoltayata"; The prescription used to treat diseases caused by soil is called "Bataviata". Wuyun and Dai are called Balulu Ramta (physical meaning), Vida Ramta (sensory meaning), Ya Xian Ramta (perceptual meaning), Wen Ya Ramta (spiritual meaning) and Upper Hara Ramta (organizational meaning) respectively. The five elements include various organs, feelings, perceptions, thoughts, expressions and so on. Dai doctors analyze human physiology, health or diseases according to the five elements, and explore methods of treatment and diagnosis. The four towers and five aggregates cooperate with each other to form the theoretical basis of Dai medicine. The diagnostic methods of Dai medicine are divided into four methods: short (pronounced as feces), visiting the deaf, exploring and driving. In short, it is to see a doctor, that is, to see the patient's spirit, color and shape. Including observing expression, spirit, complexion, skin color, sweating, walking, facial features, hair and so on.

Visiting the deaf means asking and smelling, that is, listening to patients' voices with their ears, such as breathing, bowel sounds, coughing, laughter, crying and so on. Smell the patient's body odor, sweat and oral breathing with his nose.

Inquiry, that is, department diagnosis, focuses on the onset time, season, symptoms, hobbies, family history, patient's medical history, living environment and so on. Dr. Dai believes that consultation is extremely important in the four consultations, and it can obtain valuable information for diagnosis and treatment.

Urging, that is, palpation, includes pulse-taking and touching some special parts of the body surface. The parts that touch the body surface mainly include forehead, nose, ears, limbs, abdomen and painful parts.

Of the four diagnoses, three are based on sight, smell and question, with touch as reference.

Dai medicine, called Dai Ya in Dai language, includes plant medicine, animal medicine and mineral medicine, with plant medicine as the main one. Traditional herbal medicines are arbor plants called "burying" in Dai language; There are herbs called "buds"; There are creeping plants called "pa"; There are vines called "grams"; There are fragrant medicines called "essence" and "health"; There is an acid medicine called "Song"; There is a sweet medicine called "Wan"; There is bitter medicine called "baking" and astringent medicine called "hair". More than 400 kinds of drugs have been collected in Xishuangbanna Dai Medicine Records. The medicinal properties of Dai medicine can be divided into three categories: Yahuang (warm medicine), Yagayin (cold medicine) and Yashamo (flat medicine). There are eight kinds of herbs: pine, vanilla, French, refined, roasted, stuffy, skimmed and barren (sour, sweet, astringent, salty, bitter, hemp, spicy and fragrant).

The dosage forms of Dai medicine are pills, powder, water immersion, tincture, wine bubble, ointment, fruit juice, liquid, tablet, oil, etc.

Traditional treatment methods of Dai medicine can be divided into Kaoya, Wen Ya, Aya, Nangya, Shaya, Daya, Guoya and Hug.

In addition to the above eight methods, there are medicated diet, tea wine therapy and skin rehabilitation and beauty therapy.
