The green mud of this mountain was called "pear skin mud" in ancient times. The mineral soil is light green and flaky, and the pear skin is frozen (beige) after being burned into pottery. It is only a few centimeters thick and is located between the upper layer of purple mud and the rock slab, commonly known as "dragon tendon". Its mineral composition is hydromica, kaolinite, Yingshi and a small amount of iron oxide. Benshan green mud contains more time and absorbs more water, which causes the green body to shrink greatly during volatilization, that is to say, the mud "explodes" during firing and is easy to crack. Therefore, Benshan green mud is not easy to be made into large products, but can only be made into small products and "cosmetic soil", and can be turned into decorative mud of various colors by adding appropriate colorants. Benshan green mud, a small product on the market, is generally added with purple mud, and particles can be seen after firing, which is the "sand" in the purple mud, while Benshan green mud does not contain "sand", which can be used as a criterion.
