Second, the Changshu government in the Tang Dynasty stipulated that cakes bought and sold in the market should be measured. A liter and a basket of rice made an average of ten cakes, each with the same weight, which was called "Ding Sheng Cake" and later wrongly called "Ding Sheng Cake".
Third, under the pursuit of the nomads from the Song Dynasty, Zhao Gou fled south to Hangzhou, in shock. At this time, his pet Wu children in Jihang made a "centering cake" sacrifice, which is a metaphor for Hangzhou's outstanding people and mountains and rivers. Zhao Gou was overjoyed and decided to make Hangzhou its capital, which laid the foundation for the establishment of the Southern Song Dynasty.
Fourth, it was specially made by an old woman in the Southern Song Dynasty. It is said that it was a heroic expedition for Yue Jiajun led by the famous anti-gold star Yue Fei. Ding Sheng is printed on the mould of cake surface, hence the name.
According to legend, the Taiping Army came to Wangzhuang Town in Changshu, and immediately opened a warehouse to help the poor. While carrying food, the villagers sang a song from their own mountain: "The Taiping Army is good, the Taiping Army is good, and it helps the poor. When the Taiping Army arrived, the poor people took silver ingots. " One of them sang loudly. The old man's name is Wang, and he runs a snack shop in the town. Wang's dim sum shop can't continue to operate because of the local officers and men robbing openly and secretly. Just when there was no way out, the Taiping Army came. Wang Er managed to open a dim sum shop with the food distributed to him by the Taiping Army. The Taiping Army only lived in the town for a few days and was ready to attack Changshu City. Wang Er and his wife began to make square cakes. His nine-year-old son is also helping. Wang Er looked at the cake pinched by his son, which was big at both ends and small in the middle, like an ingot. He immediately remembered what was sung in a folk song and said, "OK, OK, when the Taiping Army arrives, the poor will take the gold ingot." He said to his wife, "OK, OK, let's not make this square cake, let's make this ingot-shaped cake instead." Wang Er's family stayed up until midnight and made thousands of ingots. The next morning, Wang's family came to the intersection with cakes and gave them to Taiping soldiers in pairs. The soldier had never seen this kind of cake before and asked what it was called. Wang smiled and said, "If you eat this cake, you will surely win the battle. Let's call this cake victory cake! " Taiping rebels smiled and nodded and said yes.
Sure enough, the Taiping rebels ate this kind of cake and got bold. Changshu city was conquered in one fell swoop that day, so Wang Er's winning cake became famous with the recovery of Changshu city.
No matter which version, the origin of Ding Sheng cake has a very historical background, and Ding Sheng cake is not only a cake, but also a proof of the historical and cultural development of China.
