Treatment of diabetes with traditional Chinese medicine

Chinese medicine has a long history of treating diabetes. In the synopsis of the golden chamber, diabetes and urination are not conducive to gonorrhea. Chapter 13 divides diabetes into three syndromes:

1, lung and stomach heat, body fluid and gas injury.

The original description "Those who are thirsty are thirsty, and Baihushen Decoction is the main one." Mainly manifested as lung and stomach heat, the treatment should be clearing away heat, benefiting qi and promoting fluid production; Clinically, symptoms such as thirst, polydipsia, dry mouth and slippery pulse may appear. Laboratory tests show hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, and even diabetic ketoacidosis or hyperosmotic state. Prescriptions can be modified with Baihu plus ginseng soup, Xiaoke Fang, Yuquan Pill and Erdong Decoction.

2. Gastrointestinal dryness-heat type

The original text describes "the number of pulse supporting yang, stomach heat, that is, eliminating the grain to attract food, the stool will be firm, and the urine will be counted." The main manifestation is dryness and heat in the middle gastrointestinal tract, and the punishment is to clear the stomach and moisten the intestines. Clinically, headache, toothache, loose teeth, vexation, thirst, thirst quenching, red tongue and Huang Gan coating may occur. The prescription can be Wei Qing powder or Yunv decoction.

3. Kidney-qi deficiency type

The original text describes that "men are thirsty and urinate, drink a bucket, urinate a bucket, and be treated with Shenqi Pill." Clinically, it can be seen that thirst, excessive drinking, frequent urination, especially at night, soreness of waist and knees, impotence and premature ejaculation, cold limbs, less abdomen, light and fat tongue and thready pulse. The main manifestation is the deficiency of kidney-qi in the lower jiao, and the treatment should be mainly based on tonifying kidney and strengthening yang. Jiawei Shenqi Pill.

1, steadily lowering blood sugar and improving glucose tolerance.

Especially for newly diagnosed patients with type 2 diabetes, using traditional Chinese medicine to reduce blood sugar, 80% of patients cooperate with diet and exercise therapy within 1 month, and their blood sugar can be well controlled.

Step 2 improve symptoms

Eliminating or alleviating the clinical symptoms of diabetes is one of the advantages of classical prescriptions in treating diseases, such as newly diagnosed diabetic sugar poisoning, three more and one less, blurred vision or floaters, tears in the wind, fatigue, edema, palpitation or insomnia, sweating or numbness of limbs. It can be quickly eliminated by TCM syndrome differentiation treatment.

3. Reduce the dosage of western medicine

After a period of treatment by classical prescriptions, the dosage of western medicine can be reduced to a certain extent and the curative effect can be improved.

4. Improve physical and chemical indicators.

Such as urinary protein positive, hypoproteinemia, ECG ST segment depression or low T wave, have been significantly improved after treatment with traditional Chinese medicine.

5, delay or reverse complications

Early diabetic retinopathy, diabetic nephropathy and diabetic heart disease can be delayed or reversed by improving microcirculation disorder and treating with prescription drugs.

6, convenient for long-term use

Many classic prescriptions, such as Liuwei Dihuang Pill, Shenqi Pill, Yuquan Pill, etc., have stable curative effect, little toxic and side effects, long storage time and are not easy to deteriorate. At present, there are many forms of traditional Chinese medicine, and water pills and granules are easy to carry and take for a long time.

1, short course of disease, early detection and early treatment.

2, the body is overweight or overweight, and insulin resistance is obvious.

3, the lifestyle is irregular, often eating fat and eating rough.

4. In patients with type 2 diabetes, insulin secretion has a certain function.

5. Glucagon is high.

6, have the desire of pure Chinese medicine treatment, high compliance.

Synopsis of Golden Chamber gives us a good demonstration of the combination of syndrome differentiation and treatment, that is, the combination of syndrome differentiation and disease differentiation. The mode of modern Chinese medicine is to grasp the main symptoms according to different stages of diabetes, then add and subtract prescriptions according to concurrent symptoms/symptoms, and finally optimize prescriptions according to the research results of evidence-based medicine and modern pharmacology, that is, to combine macro dialectics with micro physical and chemical indicators.

1. The international community pays more and more attention to the application of classical prescriptions, and there are more and more evidences of evidence-based medicine. In particular, the Chinese medicine chapter has been specially added in the Guide to the Prevention and Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes in China since the 20 17 edition.

2. The combination of disease and syndrome is the only way to modernize Chinese medicine.
